We’ve brought the clever movies you need to watch for this list, pointing out works with complex stories that always demand more attention from your viewer.

Below are films that subvert the order of their plot, question the meaning of existence, work on the aspect of time in our lives, bring plot twists, and so on.

So without further ado, here are 10 movies that you should watch before you die.

10. The Shawshank redemption (1994) 9.3/10

A successful banker is framed for the murdered of his wife and he ends up in prison. The story is about how he inspired others to live with hope and never give up on it. The movie will surely inspire you and give you a ray of hope that you always wanted.

9. Fight Club (1999) 8.8/10

Starring with Brad Pitt and Edward Norton this story is about an insomniac person who remains unsatisfied with his life. He meets a soap salesman in a plane and they decide to open a fight club. The movie is filled with thrills and the ending is just mind boggling.

8. Fury (2014) 7.5/10

I've seen numerous of war movies and by far it is the best war movie I've seen. It depects the horror and deaths that war brings with it. Story depicts a 5 man team and their fight against the Nazi Germany. Must watch if you like war movies like me. It showcases human brutality and their ability to hurt each other when they get a chance.

7. Shutter Island (2010) 8.2/10

It's a story about an asylum located in an isolated island. Two marshal's are sent to investigate about a missing patient. I know it doesn't seems much interesting but trust me the ending will blow your mind.

6. Interstellar (2014) 8.6/10

If you like space exploration movies Interstellar is one of the best for this genre. It's a story of how NASA starts sending missions to different planets who can sustain life. Earth was soon becoming inhabitable so it was a race against time. How a dad leaves his daughter for the mission and the beauty of their bond with the entanglement of space and time. It's too beautiful for a movie.

5. The Motorcycle Diaries. 7.8/10

This is for the Travelling Buffs, like me :)

Above that, the movie is soul stirring as well. You arrive at a point in the movie where you can actually share the pain & anguish experienced by the protagonist. And a surprise in the end awaits you!

4. National Lampoon’s Animal House 7.4/10

You'd be hard-pressed to find a heterosexual male's college dorm that doesn't have one of two posters on the common area wall: Scarface with gun in hand, and John Belushi rocking the "College" sweater.

The Belushi joint, of course, comes from Animal House, the most respected (and funniest) of all college movies. It centers on the mischievous Deltas, a ragtag crew of frat-rejects who wreak anarchy on campus, much to the dean's chagrin. Animal House paints the collegiate experience as one long sex, booze, and debauchery-fueled bender. That wasn't the case for us, unfortunately; we just played Xbox until the wee hours before stumbling into class in the same sweatpants everyday.

No wonder so many live vicariously through the Belushi poster.

3. 12 Angry Men 9/10

"Just a room, with 12 people in it, deciding the fate of one individual"

And you will still be amazed how all of the above can keep you captivated for 2 hours!

2. The Usual Suspects 8.5/10

Kevin Spacey as Verbal Kint is splendid in this movie, which is Bryan Singer's best till date. I will say no more. Just watch it!

1. The Green Mile 8.6/10

Based on a short story by Stephen King, it explores a few things about life, death, and helping others.
