Why Modern Technology Will Never Be Able to Replace Children’s Books

Whether we are referring to a few children's books or literature, we know all too well that these are among the most beautiful memories we have kept from childhood. The stories read by either grandparents or parents have remained almost intact in our consciousness, and their image returns every time they have a real-life correspondent.

The adventures of the three musketeers, the poems about animals, or the stories with a happy ending are not missing from any child's life, no matter how they are told, they will always last, especially in terms of parents, as the first steps. Unfortunately, nowadays stories are no longer stories, and children's books are no longer children's books, but movies or cartoons. Moreover, most parents have neither the time nor the patience to go through a story for their children.

Rather, parents buy them an animated film and let them watch it on their own. Usually, children will want to talk about what they see exactly while watching, laugh with someone, or be easily scared of a character, but parents do not care at all about this aspect. Psychologists warn them of the negative impact of this loneliness on children. The stories will be much more believable if they are read by parents or grandparents, that is, by people close to the child.

Many times, the older brother chooses to read stories to his brother, although at present this is much more difficult to complete. Firstly, because the older brother is not concerned about the education that his brother would receive through these stories, and secondly because the one who should enjoy these stories himself can no longer listen to them.

It is, of course, the fault of the parents who, for various reasons, let their children play alone, see their cartoons in the same way, and gave them too much freedom to consider as there are more interesting things than listening to stories carefully. In any case, there are plenty of beautiful children's books on the market that can be read at any time.

And one of the most beautiful books for children is, without a doubt, "The Book of Apollodorus", the volume of poems written by Gellu Naum. Besides the fact that the volume is built on a story suitable for the little ones, the lyrics are musical and can be learned. However, some parents believe that some children should not learn those poems with less illogical lyrics, especially after the age of 7.

Nothing more wrong, it is recommended that all children up to 10 years old learn all the poems they like or that are required in kindergarten or school. In addition, the poems or excerpts from "The Book of Apollodorus" are not very easy to remember, as the words are not among the most used by a child up to 10 years old. In this sense, the good part will be that each child will train his mind and, of course, will learn new words with the help of his parents.

Other children's books include "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" by Mark Twain, "The Adventures of Oliver Twist" by Charles Dickens, and "Captain Grant's Children" by Jules Verne.

These books have a rather difficult narrative thread to follow, which is why the story should be read by an adult who can explain the action to the child, in parallel with reading the book. For example, it is recommended that after the story is read, the child watch the film adapted from the story. After he learns to read, his parents will be able to buy books that will help him improve his reading skills and, as psychologists say, the way he perceives life and its events.

We must not omit audiobooks or audiobooks for children, which can often successfully replace the conventional format.

Even so, the pleasure of reading disappears, at least from the parent's point of view, although as far as the child is concerned, he will enjoy an audiobook to the same extent, especially since he does not listen to it alone.

On the other hand, parents are instructed to choose very carefully, as there are certain so-called children's books that are not at all appropriate for their age, as they contain detailed descriptions of acts of violence and more.

Of course, they can be skipped, but it would be an unfair decision for the child. Paradoxically, there are acts of violence that can be educational. For example, after each chapter, the parent or educator may ask him if he understood the meaning of the talc, respectively the moral. If the child did not understand, he will be explained with examples from the text, suggesting, at the same time, what is good and what not to do.
