There are two peak periods for baby's brain development

Parents make money when they catch one

The American Academy of Pediatrics, in conjunction with several world-renowned universities and research institutions, has conducted systematic scientific research on the structure and development of the human brain and found that the brain of every newborn baby hides countless future developmental potentials.

This potential is not only reflected in intelligence but is a combination of logic, audiovisual, reasoning, judgment, interpersonal, and other abilities.

In other words, the development of a newborn baby's "potential" will largely determine the extent and level of the child's future development. If parents master these potential development skills, they will undoubtedly have the lifeline to their child's future development.

American Academy of Pediatrics: There are two peak periods of a baby's brain development, and parents will make money if they catch them once

The American Academy of Pediatrics, after a long period of observation of the characteristics of the baby's brain development, found that the baby's brain development is not as "uniform development" as people think, but a planned and focused development process.

In other words, the brain has already developed its own "developmental stages" according to the age of the baby. In the "development plan" made by the brain, when to go fast and when to go slow are written "clearly".

Baby

This means that if parents can grasp the characteristics of the baby's brain development when the brain "fast development" to make the right effort, will inevitably play a "bend over the road" effect.

Take the baby's language development, as early as 1995, by the American anthropologist Betty Hart published a "30 million words survey" showed that

Children from poor families hear 30 million words less than children from rich families, and there is a huge gap of 38 points between the former and the latter in intelligence tests.

An experiment in the BBC's documentary "The Bizarre World of the North Nose" also confirmed this conclusion, as they tracked several groups of families and found that babies who hear more words in infancy are more likely to grow up with larger vocabularies and higher brain power values.

The same holds not only for the development of language skills but also for the early development of a baby's other potential.

The American Academy of Pediatrics regards the 0-6 years of age as the golden period for early brain development, calling it the "critical 2,000 days", and if parents can do a good job of guiding the development of the brain in these 2,000 days, the child's future will not be bad.

What exactly should parents do to help their baby's brain development?

The answer is simulation.

External stimulation transmits signals to the cells of the cerebral cortex through the body's nerves and establishes connections between multiple cells, and the degree and size of these connections determine how well your baby's brain develops.

Simply put, stimulation "activates" brain cells.

Researchers have summarized baby brain patterns based on the characteristics of the baby's brain development, and they point out that there is a peak period of brain development from 0 to 6 years old when stimulation can often achieve twice the result with half the effort.

The first peak period: 0~3 years old brain development period

The brain development of babies at this stage revolves around the development of the brain itself.

In other words, they take in nutrients, reserve energy, and build up strength for future development, and parents can feel the brain volume "rising".

Generally speaking, the brain mass of a newborn is 390 grams, which is 1/4 of an adult brain; but by the age of 3, their brain is very close to that of an adult.

The change in brain mass brings about an increase in the baby's ability to learn. As mentioned above, babies are actively learning while taking in nutrients, and they are often curious about what is going on around them.

What parents need to do is take advantage of the nature of babies, with a variety of auditory, tactile, visual, and other stimuli to help the baby's brain development.

But parents should pay attention to the point that the source of this stimulation is best to be multiple, rather than a single kind. Pictures, for example, are far less effective than blocks and puzzle cards for visual stimulation only. In other words, the richer the stimulation, the more beneficial it is to your baby's brain development.

The second peak period: brain development from 4 to 6 years old

Congratulations, when your baby passes the first brain development period, the focus of their brain development will naturally enter a new developmental stage, that is, from "high-speed development" to "high-quality development".

An important basis for judging the quality of your baby's brain development is concentration.

This is not difficult to understand.

Before the age of 3, the baby's "brain task" is to know as many things as possible, for the essence of things and do not understand the "lump absorption", but wait until the age of 4, simple knowledge of things can no longer meet the needs of the brain, digestion, and absorption, in-depth understanding is The key.

Otherwise, if you have seen more things, you will forget them all in a flash and it is a waste of effort. Concentration is undoubtedly a prerequisite for children to digest and absorb knowledge.
