The Josh and Jenna

Josh and Jenna looked out of the window at the sunset in the distance with a sense of satisfaction.

It had been hard work to get here, both in the physical and metaphorical senses. When they had first started seeing each other, Josh and Jenna thought it simply wasn't going to work. They both had strong and resilient personalities, and for the most part of their relationship, the disagreements between them seemed to be the norm rather than the exception.

But Jenna was determined to make it work, and no matter how many times they found themselves at an impasse, she persisted with their relationship. Josh had been wary at first, but he eventually came to realize that Jenna was just as committed to the relationship as he was.

From the outside, the couple may have appeared to be the perfect match. They had similar interests, and their loyalty and commitment to one another was unquestionable. But on the inside was a different story. Jenna and Josh both had different opinions about everything, from how to spend money to how to raise their two children.

When it came to finances, Josh – a successful businessman – believed in a rollover approach, preferring to invest and save for the future. Jenna, on the other hand, was averse to such an approach and preferred to enjoy life in the present. This led to numerous arguments, as the couple found themselves at odds about how to manage their money.

The arguments were not limited to their financials, either. Jenna and Josh had their own views about how to raise their children. Jenna was a strict disciplinarian and believed in structure, while Josh was more relaxed and lenient. Many disagreements arose around this topic, leading to Josh struggling to assert his authority in the home.

It seemed that no matter which topic they discussed, Josh and Jenna couldn't seem to get past the disagreeable impasse they reached. However, they soon realized that the only way their relationship could work was to compromise.

For the first time since they had been together, Josh and Jenna began to find common ground and discuss matters with an open mind. Josh would take Jenna's point of view into consideration when it came to financial matters, while Jenna began to be a bit more open-minded about carrying out a parenting approach that began with her approach but included Josh's leniency on occasion.

The couple also began to make time for each other in little ways. They began to set aside two hours each evening when they could simply sit together and talk about anything. These conversations were often cathartic for them; either one of them could bring up anything bothering them and the other would be willing to listen and provide insight.

With time, the couple began to grow closer together. The arguments that had become so frequent had all but stopped, and Josh and Jenna were able to see the beauty in their relationship. The couple eventually became stronger and more in love than ever before.

So, with a satisfied smile, they both looked out at the same sunset with a new found appreciation for the beauty of their relationship, which they both worked so hard to get right.
