**The Dark Night**

It was a pitch-black night, and Ratan found himself walking alone on a deserted road. The only sound was the rustling of the leaves in the trees and the occasional hoot of an owl in the distance. Ratan was always nervous when walking alone at night, especially in the dark, where shadows seemed to stretch unnaturally long and strange shapes lurked just beyond his vision. His steps quickened, but the uneasy feeling in his chest refused to fade.Suddenly, the eerie silence was shattered by the loud, menacing bark of a dog. The sound echoed through the air, sending chills down his spine. Ratan's heart raced. He turned quickly, scanning the shadows, but there was no sign of the animal. The barking continued, louder and closer, as though the dog was following him. Terrified, Ratan didn't wait to see where the dog was coming from. He turned and sprinted down the path, desperate to escape whatever danger might be lurking.

As he ran, he noticed a small shop in the distance. The lights were on inside, a beacon of safety in the vast darkness of the night. Without thinking, Ratan darted toward the shop, hoping to find shelter. He reached the door, his breath coming in ragged gasps, and pushed it open.

The bell above the door jingled as he entered. Inside, the shop was dimly lit, with shelves stacked high with various trinkets and oddities. But what caught Ratan's attention was the shopkeeper standing behind the counter. The man had long, tangled hair that fell over his face, hiding most of his features. He was dressed in dark, worn clothing, and his voice, when he spoke, sent a shiver down Ratan's spine.

"What do you want to buy?" the shopkeeper asked, his tone low and menacing.

Ratan gulped. "I-I need a flashlight," he stammered, his voice barely a whisper.

The shopkeeper tilted his head slightly, his long hair swaying around his face like some dark veil. "This is not a grocery shop," he said, his voice deep and almost mechanical. "We don’t carry flashlights here."

Ratan, his fear growing, nodded quickly. "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to disturb you," he said, his voice trembling. "I’ll just leave now."

But as he turned to head for the door, the shopkeeper's eerie laugh echoed through the room. "You can't leave," the man said with a chilling laugh, his voice rising in an unnatural way. "HaHaHa! Not so fast!"

Before Ratan could react, the doors to the shop slammed shut with a loud bang. His heart skipped a beat, and he felt the panic rise in his chest. He tried to open the door, but it wouldn’t budge. Every window was closed tight, and he realized he was trapped. His mind raced, trying to figure out what to do. The shopkeeper was still standing behind the counter, his face now half-hidden in shadow, his smile widening unnaturally.

In a blind panic, Ratan turned and rushed toward the window. He didn’t care how it looked or whether it was dangerous; he just needed to get out. He reached the window, yanked it open, and jumped through without a second thought. His feet hit the ground outside with a thud, and he didn’t waste any time. He ran as fast as he could, not stopping until he reached the safety of his home.

Out of breath and shaken, Ratan locked the door behind him and collapsed on the couch. His heart was still racing, but at least he was safe. He spent the rest of the night wondering what had just happened. What kind of shop had he walked into? And who was that strange shopkeeper?

The next morning, Ratan was determined to put the strange experience out of his mind. He made himself a cup of coffee and sat down to watch the news, hoping it would help distract him. As the news anchor spoke about the latest events in town, Ratan’s attention was suddenly caught by a headline that flashed across the screen.

"Local Grocery Shop and Dog Barking Featured in New Horror Movie!"

His eyes widened. The report mentioned a small shop that had been part of a movie shoot, with the unsettling presence of a barking dog and a mysterious shopkeeper playing key roles in the film. Ratan’s heart skipped a beat. The shop in the story sounded eerily familiar. As the news continued, the director of the film was interviewed, and he spoke about how he had been impressed by the realism of one of the actors in the film. Ratan’s jaw dropped when he heard the director mention that they had decided to use his "real-life reactions" in the final cut of the movie.

Ratan couldn't believe what he was hearing. The events of last night had been part of a horror movie shoot, and he had unknowingly walked right into it. The barking dog, the creepy shop, and the shopkeeper had all been staged.

As the realization dawned on him, Ratan couldn’t help but smile to himself. He had been terrified beyond belief, but now he felt strangely proud. His fear, his frantic escape—it was all captured on film.

"I guess I’ll be seeing myself on the big screen next month," he thought with a wry grin. "I wonder how my acting looked in all those scenes."

The horror movie was coming to cinemas soon, and Ratan couldn’t wait to watch it. After all, he was now an unintentional star in his very own horror story.
