The Affected

Changed

He had done the right thing by letting them go on without him. He had to, anyway, the wall blocked his way. If he had try to go pass it, he would have been blinded and walked in complete darkness. It was hard to explain to others, but he knew the truth of it. He had explained in detail what he had seen for their future, then helped them load the bikes on the racks on either side of the truck. He reminded them of the paper box wrapped in brown paper and not to open it until they reached New City. He did not tell them that the box contained two million dollars. He hugged them all and watched them go on their way. Now he got on his bike and headed back to Ines and her mountain. He figured, now he'd live as a man should, everything he could ever want and a beautiful woman that he could have his way with. If she resisted he'd take her anyway. Besides, who was she going to tell. She should be glad to have a real man in her bed every night. A man that was young and virile. He was going to tap that ass three or four times a day. Now he was smiling. He accelerated the engine.

Ines was distraught. Her world had been turned up - side - down in a matter of minuets. What could she do now? She hoped he would decide to go on with his group to New City. She had put two million dollars in a wrapped paper box to entice him. He could live like a king in New City. Why should he come back here? Could she be hopeful? She knew that she could hide but to what end? He was one of the Affected. He could sense her anywhere she hid, then he would find her. Then she heard the dreaded sound of his motorbike. If she changed the code to the entry way he would just camp outside and wait for her to try and come out. And, hell, who knows? Maybe he could even read her mind anyway. She heard him coming through the entry way. "Ines!" he called to her, "What's to eat? I need to eat, shower and go to bed in that order."

After he had eaten a big meal, Wizard asked her where they would sleep. She led him to what had been her brother's room where there was a big king size bed and she pointed to the master bath with a large shower. "You can shower there," she said as she turned to leave. He grabbed her arm and pulled her to him asking, "And where do you think you're going?" "I've already had my shower and I'm just going to wash the dishes before I go to bed," she exclaimed. He started walking her to the bathroom half mumbling in her ear, "Not tonight, sweetheart. Tonight you are going to make Wizard a very happy man. "Let me go!" Ines cried out as she began to struggle. "I've got grandchildren older than you!" "It don't matter to me, baby, you've kept yourself up. You got a rocking hot body, and I love a little feistiness in my woman. " he laughed.

After the shower, she felt defeated. There was no fight left in her and she just let him do whatever he wanted. "Why you so quiet," He reached out and grabbed her hand. "I told you that Wizard is not going to hurt you." She suddenly snatched away and snapped through clinched teeth, "Don't you get it!? That part of my life is over for over twenty five years! I'm old! Leave me alone!" He didn't, 'get it.' Because he was stronger, because he was selfish, because he was affected, he took advantage of her. And then twice more that night....
