Is it fact or merely fiction? Fact or Fiction explores the myths and beliefs we hold about our family dynamics, traditions, and if there's such thing as a 'perfect family.'
A Scar's Story
How the scar was created No one ever expects to start a New Year with a permanent reminder of pain, but that’s exactly what happened to me. I was in a car accident on New Year’s Eve, and it left me with a nasty scar along my right forearm. The doctors told me that the scar was likely to be permanent, and I was devastated. I had always been proud of my smooth, unblemished skin, and the idea of having a permanent blemish scared me.

For others, the night can be a time for reflection and introspection, a time to process thoughts and emotions and to find clarity.

The Number One Suspect
The fury that has built inside me while waiting on a toxicology report to finalize is a raging blue fire. Minds wander and accusations are made. The imagination the human population has the ability to conjure up is outstanding. One becomes the gossip of the town when there is an unknown, especially when the unknown is a cause of death. It is difficult to remain patient when a twist in the plot develops through gossip.

The Daughter
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. She was born with epilepsy and struggled as a child. He would tie a puppy's leash around her leg so the dog could alert him to her impending seizures. She was ugly as a child and no one wanted to play with her. Even her own mother did not want to take care of her at times, whenever she had 'grand mal' seizures. She was a child only her father could love.
