Frybread had a sorrowful origin. Mealy flour, and rancid lard were the only rations our “beloved” government gave my aunts, uncles, grandparents of the past. Mixing a spoonful of the rotting fat into the mealy flour, along with water and scavenged salt to form a fluffy dough. Using the rest of the fat, they melted it down, rendering out some of the rot, dropping in neat little slabs that puff and fill. Despite being made of mealy flour, hazardously laced with weevil larvae and rancid lard, gritty from forming mold and a slippery cloy, it was food. It was something to stave off the pinch of a begging stomach. It filled my aunts and uncles' bellies, soothe the twisting ache of hunger in the babies before being abducted and “civilized” by missionaries and nuns. It was a staple. A trademark that had a disgusting, horrid history. But today, it brings stability, union, and joy.

How to overcome your mistakes
In a study conducted in 2019, more than 400 participants were recruited to embark on the journey of learning a mysterious, entirely fabricated language. The methodology employed in this study was rather unique. Participants were presented with sets of three rune pairs, and they were tasked with determining the meaning of these runes. For example, they had to decide which of two characters represented an animal. After a short break, the participants were revisited with the same rune pairs, but the questions were reversed. Now, they were asked which of the two runes represented a non-living object. What made this game intriguing was that the answers provided by the participants in the first round actually dictated the meanings of these runes in the second round.

TELL THE GIRL
Recently I came across a video on Facebook, where a lady brings her children to her mom, saying she's tired of taking care of them and doesn't want them anymore. The situation was chaotic as the lady and her mom were both yelling at each other because the mom refused to accept the children on the grounds that it was wrong of her to do such a thing. the mom further reminded her about how she struggled to train her and her siblings as a single mom and that she was not ready to go through that process again especially for another person's child knowing that their mother is capable of the responsibilities. Despite the mom's efforts to make her daughter take back her children who by the way are no longer toddlers and were standing, helplessly watching as the drama was playing out. I could only imagine the thoughts in their minds seeing and hearing their mom say the things she was saying all because of them. Apparently, their mom is also a single mom and wanted to do away with them just because she met a younger lover who just wants to travel around the world and enjoy life with her and for her, the only thing standing in her way is the children she has to take care of and so she came up with the idea of dumping them for her mother for as long as it takes.
