You see the signs but you try to ignore them,

You pray it is just a bad day,

But then the signs keep happening,

They never go away.

Then you know it’s true,

It is not one forgetful moment,

But it is so much worse,

It is that disease we all hope stays far away,

For some of us it comes near and doesn’t go away.

At the beginning it is not so bad but you know what is to come,

Because day by day things get worse and your loved one gets further away,

Suffering is constant for both you and your loved one,

You try to be upbeat and happy, which is not always a good thing,

Everyone is different so sometimes you have to change how you handle things.

Some times it moves slowly, other times it moves fast,

So you always have to treasure every moment that you have,

You must be strong to care for your loved one and for yourself too,

But you also must be calm to help to get your loved one through.

The color red represents strength and the color blue represents calm,

There is no doubt it takes both traits to get you through the storm.
