If I’m dreaming don’t wake me up! I love Disney and my dream home will have a Disney theme in each room. My dream home must have ample square footage since I’ll need a mastar bedroom, four Be our Guest rooms and five bathrooms. It will have a huge kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a family room, and an indoor pool!
As I child my parents never took me to Disney. We had Crystal Beach and Fantasy Island in upstate New York. The first chance I got at the tender age of 21 off to Disney World I went and that began my obsession. When I became a parent I used that as an excuse to purchase every Disney video for repeated viewing. I also saw them first in the theater with or without my children.
My children had early experiences with Disney ! My oldest was born in Burbank, California which made Disneyland his first Disney experience. He loved Figment so I would have a Figment room lots of purple and yellow and pictures of Figment. Let me not forget figurines, stuffed toys and ornaments portraying the Figment character! My boys were ages 7 and 2 when I swept them off to Disney World in Orlando where I was amazed once again.
I have always felt like a Princess therefore the master suite would be fit for a Princess With a Queen sized bed- complete with lots of gold and blue like Beauty and the Beast. There will be a tea service featuring Mrs. Potts and Chip for breakfast in bed. You’ll see roses under glass for added enchanted. Character lamps and matching bed side tables will complete the picture. I will choose the perfect comforter set, pillows and window treatments to make my dream room enchanted.
My Aladdin guest bathroom will have a purple and blue theme. I already possess lanterns from Partylite that will add a look and feel of the enchanted land of Agriba!
I have two granddaughters so I’ll have an under the sea room with twin beds for my little princess visits. The beds will be covered in Little Mermaid comforter sets with matching drapes! There be red netting for the canopy, a mermaid dollhouse and a collection of Princess barbies.
My grandson loves Cars, we call him the car master so the little Master Suite will have a Cars Movie theme. He’ll have a car bed, bedding from the movie, every car from the movie red and blue wallpaper with racomb stripes and flags. Can’t you just picture it?
My dream home has an under the sea family room with a teal overstuffed sofa for viewing Disney plus! There’s turtle sconces and Little mermaid accoutrements to immerse us in the Disney experience.
My dream home has an indoor pool with Disney themed floats and in my kitchen you’ll find Mickey and Minnie 0n my toaster, waffle maker, coffee maker, mugs, dishes and dish towels!
My living room will have Cinderella themed furniture pastel blues and gold. Let’s not forget a Beauty and the Beast inspired chandelier and sconces! My 55 inch television will be showing Disney sing alongs to keep guests immersed in my happy place.
I’ll even have a Disney themed harness on my Westies. My royal pups Lake and River.
The bathroom will have faucets and fixtures imitating Disney characters. In addition I’m sure I ll be able to scoop up some character soaps and towels!
Every day I’ll wake up to my Very Own Disney World castle!

Living my best life
How do you live through a pandemic? How do you live each day missing your family and proceed to live? It is not easy, but I make a conscious effort to rise each day and live my best life! First I rise early go for a 30 minute walk return home prepare a nice breakfast. I turn into something uplifting like Disney+ ! Since I’m in the high-risk group over 60 with underlying medical condition I have stopped working, too many people not obeying the wear your mask and I have decided I want to be here to see my grandchildren grow up. So, I can see them again after this war on the world. This week I was afforded a sneak peek into Disney as a passholder, it was great to be out it was great to see what Disney is doing to keep me safe! It was great to be in my happy place. My sister and I went together and even though we don’t live together we do a little social distancing even when we are strolling through Disney! Lunch was At the Flame Tree bbq restaurant- I had chicken, baked beans, slaw and the most amazing cream cheese cupcake! Back to my day, I make sure to get out of my chair every 60 minutes even if I’m just walking around the house. I go outside and check on my rosebushes, breathe the fresh air, take out the trash, take out the recyclables and then I come back and sit down with my iPad play a few games of bingo, words with friends or spades with Dwyane Wade. I’m keeping up with my binge watching I started with Eureka and now I’m onto Warrior Nun in between I rewatch the latest version of Jumangi! I love to laugh and Jumangi is funny. After lunch and dinner I put on my walking tape and get some walking aerobics in then back to my chair back to my TV . Before bed I pray, I pray for myself, I pray for my family. I pray for this world and when will get a handle on what’s attacking us right now so things will go back to some sense of normalcy. I long for my family, I long for hugs for my grandchildren and my children and I long to interact with my friends but I won’t let it get me down! I have a part-time business that affords me the opportunity to Conduct Facebook parties and zoom parties. I get on my zoom meetings with my team and I interact with friends and customers on Facebook. Some things are set in stone and some are off the cuff but everything combined keeps me waking up each day with a purpose. Many of the streaming services have stepped up their game! To keep my sanity I watched educational programs like National Geographic’s draining the oceans, which uncovers amazing history underwater. Then I move onto the cosmos which I found both on Disney+. We added Apple TV today and I was able to experience Greyhound with Tom Hanks and begin Defending Jacob. Another way I get fresh without walking is take out. I look forward to treating myself to not cooking a few times a week! My purpose is to live my life in the best way I can With a plan and a grateful heart!
