Mom, I've never left
In a fleeting moment, life can unfold in ways that defy our expectations, bringing forth heart-wrenching decisions and unexpected twists of fate.

Once there is a mother who had been diagnosed with cancer. Her life had taken an unpredictable and tumultuous turn. Just when she was grappling with the challenges of her diagnosis, she received astonishing news—she was pregnant. However, the grim reality was that her doctor informed her that due to her health condition, she had at most half a year to live. This devastating news plunged her into a whirlwind of emotions and choices.
Despite her love for the life growing inside her, she was faced with a heart-wrenching decision. In a moment of unimaginable pain, she chose to undergo an abortion, a choice that felt like a dagger through her heart.
After the procedure, she lost her child, and her tears flowed for three agonizing days. She grieved for the life that could have been, her heart heavy with an unending longing for the child she never held in her arms.
Strangely, after the abortion, her suffering seemed to subside. It was as if a newfound vitality had embraced her, and her health began to unexpectedly improve. Time passed, six months turned into a year, and then two, and three. During this time, neither she nor her husband considered having another child, burdened by the sorrow and guilt they felt for the one they had lost.
Then, on a quiet afternoon three years later, an extraordinary dream visited her. In the dream, a charming little girl appeared, poking her gently.
"Hello, Mommy! I'm your baby," the girl said, her voice as pure and sweet as a lark's song.
"Yes, you are. You just turned three years old this year," the mother replied, her voice filled with both wonder and disbelief.
"Oh, I'm not here to ask for a name," the girl giggled. Her laughter was like a ray of sunshine, warm and bright.
"I wanted to tell you that if you and Daddy want another baby, I won't lend you my life this time. You can come and play with me instead."
"But it's been so long, and you two must be so lonely. I've been so bored all by myself. I even graduated from kindergarten, and the principal thought I was too much trouble, so they sent me back."
The mother listened intently to the girl's innocent words, her eyes welling up with tears. It was as if she could feel the essence of her unborn child, as if she had finally connected with a presence that had eluded her.
"So, do you hope for a boy or a girl?" The mother's voice was filled with affection and warmth.
The girl furrowed her brow thoughtfully for a moment, then smiled and said, "Mommy, I think, as long as it's a child of you and Daddy, it doesn't matter if it's a boy or a girl. They'll be just as wonderful."
In her dream, the mother's tears flowed, but this time, they were tears of joy. She no longer felt regret or guilt, for she finally understood that the life that never had the chance to be born was, in some mystical way, always with her.
From that day forward, the mother found a newfound strength within her. She faced her illness with resilience and courage, unafraid of what lay ahead. Time continued to pass, and she lived beyond six months, a year, two years, and three. It was as if she was living a miracle each day, cherishing life with gratitude and love.
In her dream, the words of the little girl became her source of strength and her vision for a beautiful life. Though her body continued to be challenged by her illness, her spirit remained unbreakable, fueled by the connection she felt with the child she had once let go.
