Life with a micro preemie is wild…

chronicles of the preemie mom part 1 (COTPM)

Hey there, everyone! I hope you are having a great day and you are all staying safe and healthy. Well, all I have to say is welcome to my blog. I would like to take the time to introduce myself and tell you a little bit more about my blog and a little about my life as well as my hope for this blog and what I want to do with it.

Well let’s start with introducing myself. My name is Silvia and I am 33 years old and also married as well as a dog mom and a mother of two. Well actually my oldest child we lost but I will get into that later. I live a happy life and I really am blessed to have my life and live each day in gratitude for all that I have now that is not to say that there are things that I would like to not have gone through of course there is but you know that is just how life works out sometimes. I mean what is meant for you will always find you and what you are meant to attract in any point of your life you will. I know that for a fact and that is why I tell myself like 20 times a day, “its fine just trust the process and things will be fine.” For me this has worked and I am not starting to see the fruits of that labor. But enough of that lets keep going.

After 6 years and a long had fertility road I am happy to say that we had two beautiful baby boys and sadly we had to say goodbye as soon as our oldest son was born but years later we were blessed with his little brother who is thriving and just makes my husband and I the two happiest people we have ever known. I have struggled with uterine fibroids for a very long time and have also struggled with miscarriages as well. Up until just recently I have also been a working woman. I worked from home in the medical field dealing with back end type stuff. I have been married to my wait for it best friend for the last 7 years and yes for us it has been so perfect. We live a simple and happy life and for me that is more than I used to ask for.

Now, why did I start this blog. I started it because when I was pregnant after loss I found so many people that shared the same experience and that was great. I felt like I wasn’t the wired girl that lost her baby and no one around me could relate to losing a child like that. Then when I got pregnant again I again found lots of people with sudden surprise pregnancies that came after so many years and so much hard work put in. Then I had my baby shower and that night I woke up with bleeding and had to go to the hospital at 3 in the morning to end up being checked in and have to face the fear of losing my second child and going through all that pain again or end up having a micro preemie that would have an 80% chance of surviving the whole ordeal. When I went to look for a community that would know what I was going through since none of my main support system knew what it was that I was going through I found nothing. My husband and I were left scared and feeling alone and just holding on to each other for dear life. That brings me to why I am writing this blog and that is because I want anyone that needs it to find it and know that they aren’t alone and it doesn’t matter if you have a different background or you live in a whole different country you still have someone out there that knows how you feel and can relate to the feelings that you have and might have later on down the road.

If with our story we can help just one family navigate the rough road of micro premie first time parents then that is enough to be honest. That is the reason I now have this blog and plan to start growing it so that if someone knows someone that is going through this or something like this they can share it cause that alone tells them that you care and are thinking about them and trust me for us that would have been enough. Well that’s all for now and I think that I will do a better get to know me post later but for the rest of today I am going to spend it cuddled up with my sweet boy and get our routine done. I can say that this is the best and hardest thing I have had to face as a whole in my life and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Thanks for spending some time with me today and I hope you have an amazing rest of your day. Till next time!

XOXO
