Tipped to be one of Thailand's most breathtaking beach paradises, Koh Phangan is the perfect destination for beach lovers. With so many stunning beaches occupying its fringes, the island of Koh Phangan offers holidaymakers a wide range of beach hotspots to choose from. Whether you are looking for a bustling beach Mecca to engage in water sports activities or a little quiet seaside hub to relax in, here are some of the finest beaches to hit during a getaway in Koh Phangan.

Haad Seekantang

If there's one stunning beach a tour of Koh Phangan must encompass, it is surely Leela Beach, which is officially called Haad Seekantang. Occupying pride of place on the southeastern coastline of the island, this beach in Haad Rin village is frequently part of the monthly Full Moon Party in the area. In spite of its popularity and association with the rave, Haad Seekantang is relatively tranquil during the daytime while also offering visitors captivating views of Koh Samui from the beach. The white, sandy beach also boasts clear waters ideal for swimming (except when the tide is low), and those who venture to the eastern edge of the beach can climb up the charming lighthouse, where parties are also hosted from time to time.

Bottle Beach

Haad Khuad is another highlight among Koh Phangan's more than 30 beaches that warrants deeper exploration. As one of the best-loved beaches on the island, Bottle Beach can be difficult to get to by driving, so most tourists hop on a longtail boat to reach this idyllic piece of paradise. Although it is well-known among tourists and locals, the beach is not overrun with holidaymakers in spite of its reputation as one of the best beaches in Koh Phangan for swimming activities. Tourists staying at Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas and other resorts will find that heading to Bottle Beach is one of the top things to do on Koh Phangan for families.

Malibu Beach

As its name indicates, Malibu Beach is the star attraction for those based in Chaloklum, Koh Phangan. While it may be crowded with tourists during the peak holiday season, the beach is practically deserted during the off-season. The towering palm trees and the white sand is what makes Malibu Beach a big hit with visitors, as the beach's only bar also plays reggae music all day long. Offering visitors spectacular views of the island's impressive mountainscapes, Malibu Beach is worth checking out even if it happens to be congested.

Haad Khom

Situated to the north of the island, Haad Khom is another beach that's located near Chaloklum village. This is a lesser-known beach hub, and one must travel down a small road from Thong Sala until one reaches this pristine patch of coastline. Visually captivating, Haad Khom is a secluded beach that's ideal for those on the lookout for privacy and tranquillity. Ideal for swimming and working on one's tan, the coastal area is also perfect for a spot of snorkelling as long as you bring your gear along. Longtail boats bound for Bottle Beach usually depart from Haad Khom.

Haad Rin Nok

Called Haad Rin Beach and Full Moon Beach, Haad Rin Nok is another beach in Koh Phangan where Full Moon Parties are conducted every month. While some tourists express dissatisfaction with its cleanliness, those who choose to avoid visiting the beach after a lively party can discover a peaceful and tranquil alternative to the bustling party capital that emerges as the month draws to a close.

Haad Son

Secret Beach in Koh Phangan is the only west coast beach hotspot that's worth visiting, as it is perhaps the most picturesque seaside location on the island. Snorkelling and swimming are just some of the activities that visitors can enjoy at Haad Son, which is not really a secret location in any real sense.
