How to Make a Jar of Happiness

For starters, you want to try and muster up some happiness. Think of the people you love because this project will require some happy thoughts. Now open your mind. Relax and breathe. Began to think of the people or person who you want to bring happiness to. Ask yourself; will be using the jar? Capture an image of them in your mind. Hold on to it and think up all the things they like and who they are. If the jar is for you or your family, make sure you think about everyone. Any only positive energy…

My passion for creation lives on everytime I share this craft with my family and friends. This gift truly brings endless happiness.

Supplies You Will Need:

  • White Glue
  • Old magazines
  • A container with smooth sides to which you can glue pieces of magazine
  • Scissors
  • Plain White Paper
  • Pen
  • Or #5 and #6 can be computer word document and printer, whichever.

How To Make A Jar of Happiness

  1. Go through magazines seeking images that suit the theme for whoever will be using the jar.
  2. Cut out the images nicely and make sure you have enough, including words and sentences that are happy and the people using the jar will like. Example: Live Love Laugh
  3. Once you have enough images to cover the exterior of the container of your choice, start designing which picture will go where
  4. Then adhere with white glue.
  5. Let dry for 12 hours and re-glaze with glue, so the entire jar is covered in pictures and words representing happiness.
  6. Then write out quotes, jokes, inspirational quotes, anything fun and cut them into strips to be pulled from the jar one statement at a time.
  7. Place the quotes and jokes that are on the paper into the jar and put the lid on.
  8. When the glue is dried, and the quotes and happiness are inside with the lid on; your Jar of Happiness is complete. Now you are free to gift it or use it as you please.
  9. Instructions: Whenever your feeling down or need a pick me up, open the jar and read a singular statement.

10. Feel happiness every time the jar is opened.

This has been one of my favourite holiday pass times for many seasons. Sharing my joy with my friends and family wholeheartedly. Everyone who has been on the receiving end of this gift has expressed great joy and happiness. Thusly this craft has become a trademark of some sort. Often visiting someone I know to see one of these lovely jars placed on a counter for everyone to enjoy. That brings me an immense amount of happiness. No matter how silly this craft may seem, it has pulled many people away from sadness. Bringing laughter, love, light and life back into their lives.

Make a Jar of Happy Jar and Share the Happiness.
