FISH TIKKA

Fish tikka is a popular Indian dish made with marinated fish that is grilled or baked until tender and flavorful. Here's a simple recipe you can try at home:

Ingredients:

500g fish fillets (use a firm, white fish like cod or haddock)

1 cup plain yogurt

1 tablespoon ginger paste

1 tablespoon garlic paste

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon red chili powder

1 teaspoon cumin powder

1 teaspoon coriander powder

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

Salt, to taste

Oil, for grilling or baking

Lemon wedges and chopped coriander, for garnish

Instructions:

Cut the fish fillets into bite-sized pieces.

In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, lemon juice, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt.

Add the fish pieces to the marinade and toss to coat well. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.

Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.

Thread the fish pieces onto skewers (if grilling) or arrange them on a baking sheet (if baking).

Brush the fish with a little oil.

Grill or bake the fish for 10-15 minutes, turning once, until cooked through and lightly charred in spots.

Remove the fish from the grill or oven and garnish with lemon wedges and chopped coriander.

Serve hot with naan bread or rice and your favorite chutney or sauce. Enjoy!

Fish and Chips

Fish and chips is a classic British dish made with deep-fried fish and crispy potato fries. Here is a recipe for making fish and chips at home:

Ingredients:

1 pound white fish fillets (such as cod or haddock), cut into serving-size pieces

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 cup beer (lager or ale)

4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into thick fries

Vegetable oil, for frying

Salt, for seasoning

Instructions:

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

Gradually whisk in the beer until a smooth batter forms.

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 375°F.

Dredge the fish pieces in the batter, shaking off any excess, and carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the fish.

Remove the fish from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with salt while still hot.

In the same oil, fry the potato fries until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.

Serve the fish and chips hot with tartar sauce, lemon wedges, and malt vinegar, if desired.

Enjoy your delicious and classic fish and chips!
