Every day should be Earth Day - an occasion to appreciate our natural world, realise how much damage is being caused by humans, and vow to do as much as possible to repair it.

As it is, only one dedicated global event is titled ‘Earth Day’ - and that arrives annually on April 22.

Fortunately, awareness of this day has grown steadily, and recently skyrocketed in popularity, since it was first celebrated in 1970.

Now, more than 1 billion people in 192 countries participate in Earth Day activities each year.

Education about Earth Day, the climate crisis, microplastics, deforestation, species extinction, sustainability and much, much more, now thankfully starts early, in our schools.

But we learn every day of our lives, and as adults, we still need resources to equip us with the knowledge needed to play our part in curing nature’s ills.

So whether you’re a teacher or somebody who wants to learn more about saving the planet, here is a list of valuable Earth Day activities, crafts and information to help you through…

If you’re not using free, web-based, graphic design platform Canva yet, you should be. Seriously, it makes life so much easier and provides great, professional looking material whether you’re designing social media posts, a job application, promotional video, school projects or so much more.

I’ve copied a number of posters and worksheets that are ready to use, either to print out or to email to people.

But the glory of Canva is that you can use all these templates to fashion your own versions - it’s so easy.

Take a look at some of the templates I found when searching for ‘Earth Day’.

These are all free to use on the standard Canva plan. You will get even more choice if you sign up to Canva Pro, but you don’t have to do this.
