Find out parents' special on the Coco Village Reviews and the Coco Village feedback pages. Potty training.. Quite the milestone, right!? It usually happens anywhere between 18 months and 3 years old and it is often the messiest experience a parent will have to deal with (yep, all parents at Coco Village will agree: self-feeding can sometimes be comparable!)

But no matter the mess, like every other milestone, you will look forward to it, it will not always be easy, but you can and you will do it. You might even already have done so, and now have a bit of nostalgy of diaper changes afterward. Oh, the contradictions of parenthood.

So... Is it your turn? How should it be done? What potty should you get? Parents from the Coco Village team share their experiences to help you master the art of potty training, and to hopefully make it a smooth transition for both you and your little one. One thing’s for sure, making it fun will facilitate the learning experience! I’m sure many parents can attest to that in the Coco Village reviews section.

The signs to watch for

First of all, successful potty training has to start when the baby is physically ready. He/she has to walk and sit comfortably; extra points for kids who can take their pants and training diaper off and back on. That will save you some trouble. Most kids will start to tell you when they have a dirty diaper or just peed or pooped. When they are checking all of these points, your chances of success are good. Let’s get to it! Check out some families' stories and insight on the Coco Village Reviews page.

Where do i start? the signs to watch for

One step at a time! Start by introducing a potty. Find the right spot to put it – ideally close to the toilet your little one will use after training is done. This helps standardise the process and muscle memory will kick in if ever they have to urgently go, they’ll know where to run to and avoid accidents. Let him/her get familiar with it by simply sitting on it, even wearing cloths, and every time you get a chance, repeat the purpose of it so they can memorise and associate correctly. It can be weird to sit on a bowl at first, this will help me get used to it.

Once they know what it’s for, you can start introducing potty time into their routine. A good and easy way to start is by putting them off the potty first thing in the morning and before bath time every evening. When you get lucky and they do something, congratulate them. After a few days/weeks of successful and regular potty time, you can start adding more and opportunities and work on getting them to ask for the potty. You’re almost there!

Be patient. It might belong or it might take just a few days (yes, it can happen!). Remember to give them some responsibilities by letting them walk around with big kids' underwear whenever possible just keep the mop ready and handy.
