Parents are ecstatic when their children learn a new skill as they grow. Walking can be a turning point in a child's growth because when a child walks, it means that the mother's hands are freed. However, children who are just learning to walk always have some strange postures. Some parents don't care, while others are full of worries. If the child is learning to walk the stage of these positions, parents should be alert, do not miss the best time to correct it.

1. Toe hook

Many children in just walking, the toe will hook back, or is in the figure of eight, walking to look awkward. In fact, in most cases, children do so when learning to walk for fear of falling, intentionally so. This is a situation that occurs in most babies during the walking stage, and will slowly improve as the child develops. However, the child's walking posture may also be related to factors such as being overweight, unsuitable shoes, and walking too early. If your child is still walking like this after the age of 3, it is time to take him or her to the doctor.

2. Tiptoe walking

At around 1 year old, children who are just learning to walk will walk on their tiptoes. This is because the child's heel tendons are not yet well developed and the body's balance and coordination are not very good. This is normal for children who are just starting to walk, and it will slowly disappear. However, if your child is standing or squatting on his or her toes, it is best to go to the hospital to have the muscle tone and leg development checked. If your child walks on tiptoe for a long time, the force on the bottom of the foot is uneven and the main pressure is concentrated on the tip of the foot, so the muscles of the lower leg will be under tension for a long time. This can slowly affect standing and sitting posture, and can even lead to joint deformities. Parents also need to pay attention to that when the child is just learning to walk, try not to hold the child's hand to walk. Also do not use a walker for your child, and wear appropriate footwear, which can prevent your child from walking on tiptoe.

3. Walking and falling often

It is normal for children to fall when they first walk and walk unsteadily. Because the child is still immature, muscle strength is not enough. But if the child often falls, trips over itself, or has difficulty squatting when walking, parents should pay attention. This may be caused by calcium deficiency, balance system, or congenital muscle disorders.

4. Walk late

There is a folk saying that "three turns six sits nine crawls", which means that the child will turn over at 3 months and sit up at 6 months. But in fact, each child's development pattern is different, and the development of large movements will also vary over time. Generally, children start to learn to walk around the age of 1 year, if they can not walk for more than 18 months, it is best to take them to the hospital to check the child's bone development.

A child walking is a landmark growth event, and parents should also observe whether the child is walking in the process of learning to walk. Once the abnormality is found, seek medical attention and then cooperate with the doctor for treatment. Don't let your child's life be affected by your family's carelessness.
