Discovering twenty little frog looking heads, checking for their prosperous meal from under a log, like meercats checking for enemies. Upon a closer look we realised that each one had four little legs with skeleton looking toes on each leg upon a frog looking body.A tail not much longer than a tadpole tail. We were in awe as our eyes were glued on these tiny little specimens as we wandered what they were. Amphibian? Dinasaur? Reptile?

As we were in central Australia where its mostly dry, hot and in draught we decided they would not be amphibian. Dinasours no longer exist as far as we know, unless this is some new species of miniture dinosaur. Must be Reptile.

We endeavored to set up camp in this little area to observe these little creatures further and investigate more about them. They totally intrigued us. Travelling along with me, Chloe 5, Logan 3 and Adrijana 3. My curious Grandchildren. Logan and Addy were still a bit nervous with animals as had encountered a few scares along our journey with large boisterous dogs charging at them, saw Venomous snakes and scary spiders in some of the locations we had previously travelled.

As long as these little froggy looking things were not venomous than they may be ideal for the children to view and claim back their confidence in nature and animals.

Chloe was far more confident as being five and already soaking up every subject possible like a sponge soaking up water. Chloe was happy to lie on her tummy with her elbows on the ground, her hands cupping her cute little face, taking in every little movement of our little discovery.

Time to wash up and get ready for bed Kiddos. We can watch these cute little critters tomorrow. Maybe we can see what they eat and check if their parents arrive.

The evening was warm. After tucking the children into the swags, Chloe mentioned, Nanny, I counted twenty little lizard frogs today. Calling them as they looked. Chloe continued with; each one has its own personality just like us three kids. Chloe drifted off to sleep, wandering how these lil creatures communicated.

Addy and Logan woke up early, chit chatting about the little lizard frogs and discussed how cute they looked and wandered where their parents were. Eventually Chloe stirred from her swag and instantly got up to check on the little animals from the previous day.

I went with Chloe to check them incase there were any other creatures linguring around. They could not be seen at first as they were slightly buried in the sand, there tummies were flattened. I actually thought they had been squashed. The sun was not far up yet and it was still a little coolish, and no movement from the Lizard frogs.

Nanny! I just counted the Lizard frogs and it added up to nineteen! One is probably tucked in under the others or under a log. Count them again later. Look they are eating the little insects buzzing around.

Meanwhile Logan and Addy where in the tent sounding very excited. So much talking , squeals of delight and laughter. Lets go and check on those two cheeky ones. Chloe and I entered the tent. Logans and Addy went silent and their little faces and ears turned red looking guilty and clearly hiding an item they were not allowed at breakfast time.

Logan bravely spoke out and said Nanny! those little animals we found yesterday are not Lizard frogs. They both chanted, they are Bearded Dragons and their tails are not as short as we thought. they are quiet long. we just couldnt see the tails as they were covered by the under growth.

Chloe was watching the two intensley. How do you know? Arrow told us. Who is Arrow.? Arrow is a baby bearded dragon and their mummy can have up to 4 clutches when pregnant. Arrow is from a clutch of twenty and is four weeks old. They eat crickets.worms, flys, lavae, insects and green vegetables and grass. They are also coldblooded and need the sun to warm their little bodies. Nanny they have little spikes on them yet they are actually soft to touch.

Chloe and I looked at the two in awe. wandering how on earth these little minds came out with all this information. Nanny, they can wave when they want to tell you they are friendly and dont want to scare you, and their tails curl up when they are happy or going on an adventure. They are quiet calm and make very good childrens pets apparently. They also have super powers Logan exclaimed. They become dark in different parts of their bodies when they are frightened.

Logan, Addy, Yes I have heard these things about Berded Dragons, but how do you know all this in such a short time.? Nanny we told you. Arrow told us. Where is Arrow Chloe asked? edging closer to the two to see clearer. They lifted the little blanket and said excitedly. Here he is!.

After snapping out of our initial shock, Chloe knelt down and said Hello Arrow, Im Chloe. Can you really talk? Arrow looked at her bewildered.

Addy said Its okay Arrow this is our big sister and our Nanny and they will be your friend as well. Arrow stared and blinked at everyone. Nanny and Chloe laughed at how cute he was.

Suddenly Arrow spouted, Yes I can talk and can also communicate with sign language. He continued, tonight I can tell you many facts about Beardys, we learn from our Mothers when we are born As he spoke his tall tail bent up like a half moon, indicating he was excited about his adventure meeting these humans.

They took Arrow back to the clutch and anticipated Arrows bedtime story's that night. Arrow thanked us for taking him home and we said excitedly.

What an amazing Chatty, Charming Bearded Dragon Arrow is!
