Welcome the day by witnessing the sunrise with a smoking ceremony, an ancient ritual of burning native leaves which is said to fight off bad spirits, pay respect to the land and sea of the nation and cleanse the way for new beginnings. Take the time to honour the gathered Gadigal people, who are believed to be the true custodians of the land, listen to their wisdom and witness the culture being handed down. Darling Harbour, Sydney
