Nigeria is a place full of some the most affluent people in the world despite also having some of the poorest people in the world as well. The affluent over here flaunt like there's no tomorrow. From driving the best cars to living in the most luxurious houses, Nigerian ballin' is a different kind of ballin' and for some people, the money runs in the family.

7. The Sarakis

While the members of the Saraki family are widely renowned for getting most of their money from politics, it is also no secret that a number of people in the family are also business expert. The late Olusola Saraki for example was not only a politician but also a renowned banker who served as the Chairman of the now defunct Societe Generale bank. His son Bukola Saraki was the 13th President of the Senate of Nigeria from 2015 to 2019 and also the chair of the 8th Nigeria National Assembly The Saraki Family also has a number of investments in real estate businesses within and outside the country.

6. The Igbinedions

The patriarch of the Igbinedion family, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion is well renowned in and around the Okada Town of Edo State. Over the years, he has established quite a reputation for himself and the Igbinedion name. He is the founder of the famous Igbinedion University Okada . His son, Lucky Igbinedion was once the executive governor of Edo State from 1999 to 2003, while his daughter Omosede is currently working as a Federal lawmaker. Lucky's daughter is Osasu Igbinedion, a renowned journalist and TV presenter.

There is no way you’re a Nigerian in Nigeria who hasn’t heard of the name Abiola at least once. The late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola popularly known as M.K.O. Abiola is said to have been one of the richest men in Nigeria and Africa. He died in 1998. Since his death, the Abiola family have remained one of the wealthiest families in town in large part because of M.K.O Abiola’s investments in the transport, banking, publishing, finance, education, and oil sectors.

4. The Adenugas

Another surname that packs so much power, the Adenugas are one of the richest and most powerful families in Nigeria. The patriarch of the Adenuga Family Chief Michael Adeniyi Agbolade Ishola Adenuga Jr (CSG GCON) is the billionaire CEO of Globacom Limited, a massive telecommunications company. He is currently one of the richest man in Africa.

3. The Otedolas

By far the most popular family in Nigeria in terms of popularity and wealth, the Otedola family is an incredibly wealthy family. The patriarch of the group, Femi Otedola is a wealthy businessman, his daughter DJ Cuppy is a prolific DJ and musician, his other daughter Temi Otedola is an influencer and actress, and his other daughter Tolani is also a well-renowned musician.

2. The Adelekes

The Adeleke family is another enviable and wealthy family. The patriach of the family Dr. Adedeji Adeleke is a billionaire and popular business tycoon with investments across transport, banking, real estate, and oil sectors. The son of Dr. Adedeji, David more popularly known as Davido is a successful and very wealthy musician.

By far the most popular and powerful name in Nigeria as far as wealth goes, Aliko Dangote is the richest man in Nigeria as well as Africa. Because of Aliko's incomparable wealth, his entire family is settled for life and are automatically unmistakably the richest family that we know of in the country.
