A child is a gift from God.

Everybody knows this and every parents wants to and loves to show off their children. However, when you're in the public eye, this need to show off one's children becomes more complicated.

You see, for celebrities, showing off their children means exposing them to the world, which means exposing them to the threats of being kidnapped, bullied at school because of their parent's status, or getting the wrong kind of attention.

So it is no wonder why a lot of celebrities choose to keep the identity of their children either hidden or not too public.

Here are 13 celebrities you didn't know even had children.

1. Shaffy Bello

For some reason, many people think that Shaffy Bello is an unmarried woman with no children, but this couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, Shaffy Bello is indeed married has been married for over 20 years. She also has been blessed with not one, but 2 children: a 22 year old daughter and a 21 year old son.

She doesn't show them off on social media too often but on her daughter's 22nd birthday, she took to Instagram to celebrate her.

2. Emma Nyra

In August of 2018, Emma Nyra took to social media to share the announcement of the birth of her twin children.

The singer said:

On Aug. 11 early hours of 2 a.m, after 36 hours of labour, I gave birth to two beautiful children Alexandria and Alexandre. The babies and I are doing well by God’s grace .

I have never been so inspired and full of love as I am today. With style and full force, you have entered this world and forever impacted my destiny

The babies are now about 2 years old and Emma took to Twitter this week to share a picture with the twins thanking them for giving her so much joy.

3. D'Prince

In 2015, Nigerian singer, D'Prince, welcomed his son Uriel into the world. He took to Instagram to share a picture with himself and his son, captioning it:

There comes a time when a boy has to become a MAN. The love of my life just gave me a bouncing baby boy. To God be the glory. Now I feel my life has a purpose. To live for my boy. #NewDaddy

Maybe it's the kind of music that he sings, but many people are always very shocked to discover that the Take Banana crooner is a father.

4. Tina Mba

Many times, when a woman is unmarried, it is easy to assume that she doesn't have a child. This is the case for Nollywood actress, Tina Mba. Although the veteran actress is unmarried, she has been blessed with 2 children.

The actress is yet to reveal the pictures of her children.

5. Olamide

Nigerian rapper, Olamide, is another man people are always surprised to discover has a child. But they're more surprised to discover that Olamide doesn't have just one child, he has three: 2 sons and 1 daughter from 2 baby mamas.

6. Tekno

When Tekno and Nigerian singer, Lola Rae announced the news of their relationship, it shocked the whole of Nigeria. However, when they went further to reveal that they were expecting a child, it blew up the internet sphere.

Now the baby is here, and the Pana crooner is now officially a father.

7. Waje

When Nigerian singer, Waje, was 17 years old she got a pregnant with a daughter. That child's name is Emerald and she is now 20 years old.

At the earlier stages of Waje's career, she made it a point not to showcase her daughter on social media, but then as time continued to pass, the Nigerian singer got more comfortable and has since shown of her child not only in her social media, but even in her music videos.

8. Oge Okoye

In 2005, Nollywood actress Oge Okoye, got married to business man Stanley Duru. The marriage lasted for 7 years and produced 2 children: one boy and one girl. Although the actress is renowned for keeping a low profile and living a private life, she occasionally loves to show off her children on social media and celebrate them.

9. Di'Ja

What do we really know about Di'ja. Almost nothing when you think about it. Unlike other celebrities, Di'Ja does not seem to care about fame in the slightest bit. The singer is so private, her Instagram currently has just 39 posts despite having 1.2 million followers.

When pictures of the singer's wedding hit the internet, people didn't know if they were to believe it or if it was fake. Some people swore it was for a music video, others were just too shocked to even comprehend it.

Then, the singer dropped the bombshell that she'd given birth and everybody was like WHAT?!

The singer believe it or not, now has 3 children.

10. Zainab Balogun

Speaking of women who like to keep their lives private, Zainab Balogun got married to owner of JetWest airways, Dikko Nwachukwu in 2018.

Dikko is a widower who already has 2 sons: Ethan and Eli, who have now become Zainab's children since their marriage. Speaking on the boys' reaction when they were told that she would be becoming her mother, Zainab said:

I will never ever forget when we told them that we were going to get married. It was such a special moment. I remember they were sitting down and I was recording and I said to them that me and Daddy are thinking of getting married.. so how would you feel if I became your mum and we got married? It was so weird they burst into tears. They were so happy.

The two are yet to disclose the faces of their children.

11. Bolanle Ninalowo

Bolanle Ninalowo is most popular for his roles on Nigerian streaming website, IrokoTV where he has appeared in movies and series such as Husbands of Lagos and Picture Perfect. He is majorly known for playing the 'bad boy'. His built physique and intensity on screen make him one of Nigeria's most eligible bachelors and heartthrobs.

Or at least so the people thought!

It turns out that Bolanle is not only married and has been married to his wife, Bunmi, for several years now, but he is also a father of 2 children: one boy and one girl.

12. Regina Daniels

Regina Daniels is an expecting mother. It came to the surprise of Nigerians everywhere when her husband Ned Nwoko posted a picture of a heavily pregnant Regina with the caption:

It is now official. I am excited to announce that my baby is having a baby

13. Simi

Another expecting mother is Nigerian beloved singer, Simi, along with her just as talented husband, Adekunle Gold. The 2 revealed earlier in the year that they are expecting a child. Simi made the revelation in the music video for her hit single, Duduke.
