A child is an amazing gift from God. Despite how unpredictable and horrible 2020 has been to some people, to some others, it has brought forth the gift of children.

2020 saw some of our favorite Nigerian celebrities welcome to new life into the world. Of course we are very happy for each and every one of them. While some of the pregnancies and deliveries were widely spread and talked about everywhere, a couple of them were very quiet and you might not know that some of these celebrities even had children.

1. Simi

One of the most talked about pregnancies and births in Nigeria this year was of Nigerian singer/songwriter, Simi. The singer even immortalized the moment through music and her music video for ‘Duduke’ which was a love-letter to her baby.

On May 30th, her and husband Adekunle Gold welcomed their baby girl, Adejare into the world.

2. Regina Daniels

Another pregnancy that caused a lot of conversation and got a lot of media attention was the pregnancy of actress, Regina Daniels.

On Monday, June 29, Regina Daniels and her billionaire hubby, Ned Nwoko welcomed their first child together, a baby boy by the name of Munir. The birth came two days after her friends threw her a surprise baby shower.

3. Halima Abubakar

This is one of the more surprising ones. Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar took to her Instagram to share news that she had given birth to a bouncing baby boy.

Her Instagram caption read:

A gift from God and I will cherish you for life. Biggest miracle. A boy. 3/4/20.

4. Aramide

In January, singer Aramide revealed that her and her husband Pelumi Alli welcomed a baby girl. The talented singer made the announcement on Instagram, saying that although they announced the news in 2020, they welcomed their baby on December 26, 2019.

She wrote on Instagram:

Our Precious and Perfect Gift from God. Anjolaoluwa Charis Alli. 26:12:19

The biggest blessing of the decade for us. Thank you God for everything. Happy New Year!

5. DJ Enimoney

DJ Enimoney, musician and DJ of YBNL earlier this year welcomed a baby girl.

The artist, who is the younger brother of indigenous rapper Olamide, shared the news on Instagram saying "Ahliamdulilah, it's a girl. Anina,"

6. Moses Simon

Super Eagles player, Moses Simon and his wife Ibukunoluwa welcomed a baby girl earlier this year too.

The Nantes forward who shared a photo of him carrying their daughter, said she arrived on Thursday April 30. Taking to Instagram, he wrote:

Glory be to God !!On 30:4:20 God added another princess to my castle and a special thanks to my @princess_mide27 Words will never be enough to express just how thankful I am that you are my wife i will keep loving and cherish you forever

7. Nina

BBNaija’s Nina welcomed a son with her husband Tony in the United States.

The excited father is the one who took to Instagram to share the news of their baby's arrival. He wrote:

Sometimes the smallest things take up the whole room in our heart. Look who dropped in, our bundle of joy has arrived....DENZEL KELECHUKWU A. I love you son

8. Grace Ajilore

Social Media celebrity and Vlogger, Grace Ajilore welcomed her first child, a boy earlier this year too.

The Youtube star announced the birth of her son on Instagram and Twitter. She accompanied that announcement with a cute photo of the baby boy and another of her man cradling their son.

9. Mercy Johnson-Okojie

Mercy Johnson-Okojie and her hubby, Prince Odi Okojie, welcomed their fourth child, a baby girl earlier this year.

The Nollywood actress gave birth to their baby at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center in Maryland, USA on May 4th. Her husband shared the good news online saying:

''Every Good and Perfect gift is from God. The wait is finally Over, Please share in Our Joy as we announce the arrival of Our Daughter.

Divine-Mercy Ehinomen Okojie.''

10. Kcee

Nigerian singer, Kcee, earlier this year welcomed his third child with his wife. Upon the birth of the baby, the singer took to Instagram to write:

When counting the luckiest people on earth I count myself first , my wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy (King Kwemtochukwu Okonkwo) today which happens to be her birthday . The mother , the father , the new born baby , Kanye ,Sommy and off course his favorite uncle @iam_emoney1 are all doing very well. You all should pls help me wish @misseijay a happy birthday and ask her what she wants as her birthday gift cos money no be problem. God is the greatest no."

11. Bam Bam

Another BBNaija star who was blessed with a child this year was Bam Bam. Four months after their star-studded Dubai wedding, BBNaija stars, Tope Adenibuyan aka Teddy A and Bamike Olawunmi aka BamBam, welcomed a baby girl.

Their baby girl, Zendaya Folakemi Adenibuyan was born on Thursday, March 5, 2020.
