You want to become a freelance writer…great.

You see your favorite creator selling a course.

Become a sixfigure freelancer

Freelance to $100K in 12 months

Earn your first $10K in 90 days

Join my writing cohort to become a freelance writer who has an endless supply of clients. 99.99999% of them are an absolute waste of money and aimed at exploiting the newbies…and for some quick money in the creator`s pockets.

I know because I have taken them. I don`t want to get into namecalling because that`s not the point.

Here`s all you need to know if you really want to earn 6 figures as a freelancer.

These courses cost anywhere between $100 $1000….no sorry…$997.

And they all say the same thing. They are bloated to the teeth with highlevel fluff while leaving you to figure out the nuances…which is what you are paying for in the first place. I made the procedure as clear as possible. If you need more information about any of these steps, there are millions of articles on Google and YouTube.

I haven't seen a course that teaches anything about these topics that aren't yet available on the first page of Google.

The customer's job is hard. That's why these scammers who acquire a small number of clients based on some articles that have become viral immediately present it as evidence and immediately start selling courses to make money. There is more money in teaching to freelance than actual freelancing.

Now let`s get on with the article.

There are only two ways to earn as a freelance writer — Being a content writer or a copywriter. 99% of the freelancing opportunities for writers are within these three:

You write emails

You write blogs

You write copy for websites, landing pages and sales pages. Take the copywriting route if you are more salesoriented. If you have a deep knowledge of a particular niche or two niches, use the content creation route.

Specialists always win in the freelance world. Only they can claim the premium. If you don't want to get stuck at the low end, the niche is very important ... always in price competition with other freelancers who may be below your price.

Don't listen to these smartasses that generalists dominate the world. no, I will not do it. At least not in the freelance world.

You can develop complementary skills.

Copywriting-Marketing-SEO-CRO-These are all complementary skills. However, if you want to get big customers, stick to at most one or two niches.

Establish expertise in the niche first. Then people will come to you to see your expertise and see if you can help them, or at least guide them ... they are different I'm in a niche.

Only then can you decide whether to try a new niche ... if you think it's an interesting and valuable project.

Budget companies are looking for someone who is good at one thing. Step 1: Decide your niche. Here are the business niches that pay the highest. Marketing‒finance‒Saas‒Ecommerce‒lifestyle‒healthcare and fitness — beauty — any professional service like legal/medical/dental/advisors/etc.

Gain industry knowledge in any one or two of these.

Niche domain knowledge will be the money maker in your freelancing career. Freelance and writing metacourses cannot teach you that.

Step 2: Shape your personality ... in writing. In a world full of millions of freelancers offering the same service, your personality is your unique selling point.

Are you loud and bold or charismatic? or very professional and clear in your messaging? fun or high energy or extreme or subtle and mellow?

Different brands want different tones in their messaging…and they choose freelancers whose personalities are in line with their brand voice.

So if you can position yourself uniquely with a writing voice…you are golden.

Step 3: Setup a website. Your website:

Your main offer on the first page ... in very few lines ... clear and concise ... like the slogan. Do you have a sample of your writing? Focus on creating SEO-driven content so you can get organic leads

Is there an about page

Inquiry page

If you're building an audience and creating regular content like ActiveCampaign, opt-in to email. Needs of all freelancers:

System for Earning Leads-either via organic traffic / referrals or email lists. Project onboarding process-How do you collect project details / payments-collect at least 50% in advance. Plan your offboarding process and get feedback and testimony. Sales Process-How do you complete a sale or transaction ... Prepare for price negotiations and dealing with dissenting opinions before making a call.
