It has 2 types of questions in this exam: standard multiple-choice and item sets, i.e., there are no essay-type exams involved. An ESG candidate should devote 130 hours to complete the Certification. The exam syllabus is updated once every year on the 1st of October. Therefore, it would be best to stay updated with the latest syllabus. The exam takes place online from certain locations only. The pass marks range from 60% to 70%.

The CFA ESG syllabus includes 9 chapters that cover everything. The course providers provide the CFA study material.

· CFA level I

This exam mainly introduces candidates to a wide range of terms and concepts from the 10 main topic areas. The time limit is 2 hours 15 minutes.

· CFA level II

It focuses on analyzing and applying the basic concepts. The Level 2 exams also consist of two sections, each having 44 sets of questions. The time limit is 2 hours 15 minutes.

· CFA Level III

It focuses on applying what you've learned in portfolio management and wealth planning topics. The paper format is the same as CFA level III. Each paper's CFA ESG practice questions are provided section-wise on online sites.
