“The kite Runner “ immensely beautiful and emotional story of regrets, friendship, betrayal, trauma, and brotherhood written by Khaled Hussenie (an Afghan writer who is famous for her to other books “The Thousands Splendid Suns” and “The Mountain Echoed”. Mr. Husseine is famous for highlighting social issues in Afghanistan after Taliban and How life of Afghan people change during that difficult war time and how people survive?).

The kite Runner (narrative by Amir) is the story of two boys Amir and Hassan, they spend all their childhood with each other playing , reading books etc etc. Hassan and Amir were like best friends. Amir always want to be a writer whereas his father never appreciates him in this career and always wanted Amir to be like other typical Afghan who are strong. He always consider him weak and emotional person but for Hassan Amir was a very good writer, story teller and most emotionally stable person. Amir always read books for Hassan especially Shahnama. Hassan was a Hazara boy and for me was the main character of the story. Very one in the neighbour hate Hassan and degrade him for being Hazara. Amir's friend (Asif, Wali and Kama(who abused Hassan) always ask him why this Hazara is important to you etc etc. Hassan was a true and loyal friend of Amir and always cheered Amir for his little achievements. The story take turn after the kite tournament and betrayal of Amir to Hassan. After that traumatised event Hassan moved with his father Ali from Amir’s House. After some time Amir moved to Pakistan with his father and then to USA where they live after that. Amir got married to Sorya, started new chapter of his life.

After Amir’s marriage his father died with cancer, Amir moved to New apartment. Amir become a writer and publish his books. After a long time, He got a letter from Rahim Khan( Amir’s father’s friend) to visit him in Pakistan, Rahim Khan shared a picture of young man and a child along with the letter. Guess what who’s picture it was.... it was Hassan's picture (the young and handsome Hassan more strong and brave Hassan) with his Son Sohrab ( named after Hassan Favourite character from SHAHNAMA that Amir reads to Hassan and the character that seems to be more brave to Hassan).

After seeing Hassan picture, flashback from the past came and Amir remember the nightmare of KITE Tournament that filled him with regret, pain and left him blaming his self. He never ever shared that incident with anyone. So Amir move to Pakistan where Rahim Khan told him about his illness and last days at Amir's House in Afghanistan. Rahim Khan told him about Hassan and His family, and how Taliban destroyed them. Rahim Khan asked Amir to visit Afghanistan for him and there is a chance to be good again. Amir visited Afghanistan and brought Hassan ‘s son with him after a great fight with Asif( Amir and Hassan’ childhood neighbour with whom they never want to be friend. Due to Asif, Hasaan and Amir both suffered in past and now). Rahim Khan left a good bye letter to Amir.

Amir took Sohrab to USA along with him and there He and Soraya Adopted him. The story ends with a good note of Amir doing things for Hassan and availing his chance to be good again.

I give 4/5 stars to this book. Its a very good and worth reading. Do give it a read.

Best line from the Novel: Bitter truths are far better than comfortable lies.......
