The dark moon:finding strength in adversity

By balogun opeyemiPublished 3 years ago • 3 min read

"Once upon a time in a small village nestled in the mountains, there lived a young maiden named Amina. She was fascinated by the dark moon, which she had heard was a place of great power and mystery. She longed to see it for herself, to experience its magic and wonder. But the villagers warned her that the dark moon was a dangerous place. They told her stories of travelers who had gone there and never returned, and they begged her not to risk her life. But Amina was determined. She knew that the dark moon was calling to her, and she could not ignore its siren song.

So she set out on a journey to find the dark moon. She traveled through forests and across rivers, facing many dangers along the way. She encountered fierce beasts and treacherous terrain, but she refused to give up. Her determination was unwavering, and she pressed on through the darkness.

Finally, after many long days and nights, she arrived at the dark moon. As she gazed up at the sky, she felt a sense of awe and wonder. The dark moon was more beautiful than she had ever imagined, and she knew that she had made the right decision to come. She spent the night under the dark moon, watching as the stars danced across the sky. She felt a sense of peace and contentment that she had never experienced before.

But as the night wore on, she began to hear strange whispers in the darkness. She felt a sense of unease, as if something was watching her from the shadows. She tried to ignore the feeling, but it grew stronger with each passing moment. And then, suddenly, she saw a figure emerge from the darkness. It was a woman, dressed in black robes, with eyes that glowed like embers in the night.

Amina was terrified, but she refused to show it. She stood her ground, facing the woman with all the courage she could muster. The woman spoke to her in a language that Amina did not understand, but somehow she knew what she was saying. She was warning Amina of the dangers of the dark moon, telling her that she should leave before it was too late.

But Amina refused to listen. She knew that the dark moon was where she was meant to be, and she would not be deterred. She stood her ground, facing the woman with all the strength and determination she could muster.

And then, suddenly, the woman disappeared as quickly as she had come.

Amina was left alone once again, but the feeling of unease did not leave her. She felt as if she was being watched, as if there were eyes on her from every direction. She tried to shake the feeling, but it only grew stronger.

As the night wore on, Amina began to see strange things in the darkness. She saw shapes moving in the shadows, heard whispers that seemed to come from nowhere. She tried to tell herself that it was just her imagination, but she knew deep down that something was not right.

And then, suddenly, she heard a voice calling out to her from the darkness. It was a voice that she recognized, a voice that she had heard many times before. It was the voice of her grandmother, who had passed away many years ago.

Amina was shocked and frightened, but she knew that she had to follow the voice. She set out into the darkness, following the sound of her grandmother's voice. She walked for what seemed like hours, until she came to a clearing in the forest. And there, standing in the center of the clearing, was her grandmother.

Amina was overjoyed to see her grandmother again, but she was also confused. She knew that her grandmother was dead, and yet here she was, standing before her. Her grandmother explained that she had come to guide Amina through the darkness, to help her find her way home.

And so Amina followed her grandmother through the darkness, back to the village where she had grown up. She was filled with a sense of peace and contentment, knowing that she had found her way back home. And she knew that she would never forget the lessons she had learned on her journey to the dark moon.
