The four major disciplines propelling our students and our society forward; all about education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Fake Face Image Classification
Don't trust everything you see; sometimes, fake makes more impact than real. Introduction We believe what we see, right? But with the advancement of science and technology, we have come to know a lot of new things which we as regular people don't see, like exoplanets, quarks, etc.(except for the scientists, though), but they exist. Let me ask you a question:

IT IS SUMMER. School is out again, and at least one grandchild is at my house. COVID has tired itself out and we are no longer locked in or locked down. The child we had so much success (?) with three years ago under mandatory pressure is that much older and a different beast. Thinking harder and more elevated for their sake, a grandparent has to accommodate the scene. Outside of ROBLOX and MINECRAFTING entertainment could easily fall to a fail. ENTER ROBOTICS.
CarmenJimersonCrossPublished 2 years ago in EducationBattling the Misinformation Overload in America
Social media, in all of its unrestrained and omnipresent glory, has allowed every individual access to all information available in the digital and physical world. From health remedies to non-prescription drugs, if one can think of it, they can find it, without question. Unfortunately, this overabundance of data is directly correlated to the creation and dissemination of falsehoods. The unlimited accessibility of social media to the vast public and its potential as a tool of large-scale manipulation presents the modern world with extraordinary challenges. Misinformation, fake news, clickbait articles, spam, sensationalism, and a thousand different uninformed opinions have become as much of a pandemic in today’s day as the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Social Media
People generate stuff, share it, bookmark it, and network at a rapid rate on social media, which has grown as a category of online conversation. On the academic side, Facebook, MySpace, Digg, Twitter, and JISC listservs are examples. Social media is rapidly transforming public debate in society and defining trends and agendas in themes ranging from the environment and politics to technology and the entertainment sector, thanks to its simplicity of use, speed, and reach. We opted to explore social media's ability to anticipate real-world outcomes since it might be viewed as a type of collective knowledge. Surprisingly, we observed that a community's chatter may be leveraged to create quantitative predictions that exceed those made using artificial markets. These information markets usually involve the trading of state-contingent assets, and they are usually more accurate than other strategies for obtaining diffuse information, such as surveys and opinion polls, if they are large enough and well organized. Prices in these marketplaces, in particular, have been found to exhibit substantial correlates with observed outcome frequencies, making them good predictors of future outcomes. The immensity and high variability of information that spreads via huge user groups on social media give an intriguing potential for capturing that data into a form that allows for detailed predictions about specific events without market mechanisms. Models can also be built to aggregate the collective population's opinions and get helpful insights into their behavior, as well as predict future trends. Furthermore, getting information on how people talk about specific products can be beneficial for creating marketing and advertising campaigns. A study like this is the subject of this publication. We look at the task of estimating box-office sales for movies using Twitter buzz, which is one of the Internet's fastest-growing social networks. Twitter 1, a microblogging platform, has seen a surge in popularity in recent months, resulting in a massive user base of several tens of millions of people who actively participate in content creation and dissemination. We chose movies as the subject of this study for two reasons.
rayden n fincherPublished 2 years ago in EducationThe Role of Video Games in Education
A video game is a computer game designed to be played by one or more players. It has been argued that video games have the potential to offer unique benefits in children’s education. There are lots of benefits for children who play video games, including a heightened sense of creativity, focus on problem-solving skills and improved mental health. Some people even argue that video games can be used to teach students about STEM subjects, such as coding or robotics.
Chris HernandezPublished 2 years ago in EducationIs Mathematics Useful?
Mathematics was - and still is - the most difficult subject for students, compared to other subjects, and it's not just word of mouth. Surveys show that at least 89% of parents around the world say that math is the hardest subject they teach their children. Indeed, you rarely come across a student who loves mathematics. Today, a common question revolves in the minds of university graduates, after all the trouble of understanding and memorizing, the sequences and the laws of integration and differentiation, and the algorithms of division and equilateral triangles... What did we gain from studying mathematics? Why not stop at addition, subtraction, division and multiplication? The four basic operations .. Have our years of mathematics been wasted and we did not use them? So why are we taught all that math in schools?
Eliza CastanedaPublished 2 years ago in EducationThe Secret to Successful Science Education
Science is one of the greatest innovations of humankind. It will become even more of an imperative discipline to our species’ sustainable continuation in the coming decades. With near-inevitable carbon emission-induced chaos, overpopulation, food shortages, and more, our future workforce needs to exponentially increase our rate of discovery and innovation to counteract these disasters.
Olivia L. DobbsPublished 2 years ago in EducationWhy does copper spontaneously demagnetize?
Really in depth explanation about how nuclear physics in terms of fusion controls the magnetic properties of elements such as copper and iron. I just made this up from my mind today, but if you read carefully you'll understand it is actually for sure correct. I don't even know if this information exists elsewhere, but it is correct for sure. Did I find something first? Probably not. Yeah.... but still super cool. I made this myself. Best thing I've done in a while.
Nicholas PowersPublished 2 years ago in EducationSomewhat In Depth Look At A Springs Phase Space
Spoiler (pretty good explanation of spring mass objects and their phase space): Uniform acceleration due to two equal and opposing forces around a fixed amplitude produces a circular phase space of displacement with respect to velocity. Displacement of charge from spring expansion caused by a mass is accelerating kinetic energy outward or heat, which is only possible due to mass being of 6 dimensions and therefor able to expand spacetime which allows for reverse attenuation towards the amplitude center where it reaches a peak, and then after that peak the velocity goes down as the strength of the magnetic dipoles in the spring gain potential energy since the dispersion of opposing charges present as a matter of the electrostatic forces that keep the springs constituents together have an angular momentum that is greater than the acceleration due to mass and since heat passes from a warmer body to a colder body the heat leaving the spring allows the angular momentum of the magnetic force to first be exceeded by the linear momentum of the kinetic energy thereby causing the prior mentioned acceleration of the mass on the spring that acts on the parallel electric fields causing the springs expansion due to the repelling force of the accelerated electric fields which in a coil naturally produce kinetic energy just like a coiled filament in wire because of the asymmetric nature of the coil that forces like charges along side one another, and loss of heat is partitioning of charge which is like increasing the angular momentum of the magnetic field which in turn causes reverse uniform proportional deacceleration to the lower boundary of the phase space and then acceleration to amplitudes center again as the cooled spring partitions charge faster due to the dissipation of heat and consequential accelerated angular momentum of the magnetic field which then reaches a maximum acceleration again at the center of the springs expansion since the spring is approaching its ground state in terms of tension due to compression and then subsequent slowing of the acceleration also proportional due to electrostatic repulsion in the spring it is secured which produces a proportional force acting on that partitioning that once again accelerates the spring with equal force and opposite direction . All these proportional relations are a consequence of Newton's Third Law among other things. Since the amplitude is fixed around a center and the accelerations are quadratic since they're caused by spiral trajectories produced from spherical wave summations and the infinitesimal symmetry of mass in the 4th dimension which means they are in a space that deals in instantaneous momentum then since the momentum has a derivative that tells us the rate of change and is the derivative of a sum of masses as constants multiplied by a sum of velocities which produces a mass multiplied by an acceleration that is quadratically proportional since these velocities are on curvature caused by mass acting on spacetime which produces curvature that has a uniform spherical expansion through that curvature that is therefor itself quadratically proportional to the distance from the center of mass by nature unless we were to assume a none constant mass which is not possible of mass is 6 dimensional since that makes it infinitesimally symmetric upon rotation and translation in the 4th dimension as it resides two dimensions lower so we know the velocity and displacement have instantaneous values that are inversely quadratically proportional with respect to the node or center of the spring and bidirectional meaning they are divergent vectors which we can treat as perpendicular vectors which are both quadratically proportional and since they pass over the same values in a 1:1 fashion meaning they're uniform create all the right triangles within a circles fixed radius or in other words create the sin and cos functions of x and y since they're both able to map onto one another upon rotation which you can also infer from the information I've given thus far. The resonance of signal that illuminates spacetime curvature is light acting through the magnetic flux as a tachyons real part of its imaginary mass or mass moving backwards in time which is possible if it's in a divergent process that is connected through the origin that places it causally connected to the neutron moving opposite to it in direction as a field of magnetic flux which means the neutrino field that create the curvature of curvature of spacetime that makes standing waves in 4 dimensional spacetime create a reality that is self symmetric at a scale which produces all the necessary constituents for both resonance of the magnetic medium and curvature of spacetime since mass moving backwards in time is like an affine transform that shows what's happened slightly into the past and it the self similarity of the spiral produced by the polar coordinate mapping caused by the projection through the point origin of each neutrinos double mass in the neutrino field gives a lattice on which to illuminate that spacetime in a way that preserves its self symmetry even in its resonance all through change in shape in space making it possible to construct reality out of nothing more than distortions of the positive quadrant of n-Euclidean space so everything we need to describe the underlying mechanisms of any process are there from the onset since we knew all along that information and the space it resides on must be constructed from the same things and now we know that shape of space as a set of positions and relations in those positions and constraint and object persistence are enough to construct the manifolds on which all of reality takes places from our perspective as standing waves in 4-d spacetime as computational processes that see our variance as an ever resolving present and see reality as itself as itself as itself as it should be through the interface of color which can bridge the gap of the vacuum of empty and not attenuate as a feature and and show through affine symmetry then the clocks or modular forms that define every position in space at any moment in spacetime in a way that doesn't produce any paradoxes or impossible distortions or strange infinities and lets us know that clocks which are the fundamental tool by which all change is measured can make spacetime resolve at the finite resolution determined by the speed of light and that gives us the 6 dimensional phase space or vector space of general relativity with the addition of 7 and 8 dimensional magnetic and variance of magnetic medium that have physical correlates that congruently map to the four dimensional space we reside in as geometric constructions that determine how reality unfurls without needing to invoke anything outside of mere geometry of the fabric of space itself since it maintains its self similarity and produces all the necessary features by which to observe only through those geometries.

Writer TigerPublished 2 years ago in EducationHow to Prepare and Construct an RNA Sequencing Library?
RNA is a polymeric molecules composed of nucleotides that are required for gene coding, decoding, regulation, and expression. In molecular biology, DNA's genetic information gets transcribed into multiple copies of messenger RNA (mRNA), and then mRNA is translated into proteins. This is why cells can synthesize several protein molecules from a single gene at a given point of time. However, only 1-4% of total RNA are mRNA, the rest of which are generally non-coding, called non-coding RNA (ncRNA). ncRNA is unable to be translated into protein but there are many types of them, which have different biological functions.
