Englishly
As a native American English speaker, I believe I have noticed a slow but accelerating decline of the English adverb. (I cannot say whether similar results are occurring in British English.) Authors are advised exclusively to use ‘strong verbs’ and to rely less on adverbial adjustment. Younger generations ever-increasingly accustom themselves to social media shorthand and slang. Many people fall into perpetually repeating the familiar, misspoken phrasings that they grew up hearing and that everyone around them uses, despite being educated otherwise. Prominent among all is the rampant misuse of adjectives occurs where adverbs are needed.

Well, I Guess They Need a New Theme Song Now
I wanted to wait a while before posting another article, but current events just made this impractical. Before we continue, I am a native of New Orleans, LA. And let me say my viewpoint on my hometown is...“complex”. Love the people, love the food, hate the Saints (you heard me, right; I can’t stand the Saints). There’s a special diversity and charm in New Orleans (please don’t call it ‘N’awlins’; I’ll slap you). And it’s a great place to visit. But then we get into the (infrastructure) challenges of being a resident of New Orleans (and trust; there are many). Today, however, I’m only here to speak to one issue in New Orleans: education.

Café y Humanidad
I had never met a man so full of passion for coffee, and more than anything, full of humanity. It only happens once, in a lifetime, to come across a person with a compelling disposition. A person who despite having the right to safeguard themselves and their triumphs after overcoming brutal turbulent roads across systematic and corporate America, still, that individual chooses to fight for the lives and well-being of others.

Single stories
"We see the world, not as it is but as we are" Stephen Covey. The world is built in the principle of the known and unknown, meaning that daily affairs either come as knowing or not. Knowledge is the fundamental center of reality itself. Our identities are shaped by our beliefs and values. We cannot deny diversity in mankind but that should not be an opportunity to be deliberately uninformed. Structural ignorance denies people from acquiring knowledge due to control system. A society that is without knowledge is also a society without power because they do not know what to do in order to survive.

Perseverance
With the landing of Perseverance on Mars today, and the next part of her journey just beginning, I am reminded that I have my own journey to continue. In my struggles with life change, I had been thinking about not continuing. But as she rolls out, I had best do the same and do a system's check and get on with it; there is not time to waste!
