The Comedy of Your First Degree Submission
Let’s take a minute to travel a little bit back in time. When we were twelve, during our first years of high school, our final years in mandatory education, we looked up to those ‘big kids’ graduating and going onto something much more than ‘school.’ Onto somewhere more free without having to sit through Mrs. Chapman’s double math across second and third period or soggy sandwiches in the cafeteria.

Your junior and senior year of high school are ones of excitement and "lasts." Last first day, last prom, last concert, last home high school football game. It's exciting and looking into the future is intimidating but also simultaneously rather inviting. Perhaps the most intimidating part is trying to figure out what you want to do for the rest of your life at the age of 17.
Jade ThompsonPublished 6 years ago in Education6 Interesting Things I've Noticed Going to Community College
My experience so far as a community college student... 1. Going to a community college is very eye-opening; you don't always get to see the norm. For example, at a fancy-pants university, there's obviously the fresh out of high school kids all the way up to the 20 something-year-olds seniors about to graduate, finally.
My Future Self
Full Athletic Scholarship to a NCAA division one school to compete in both Track and Field and Cross Country. You could say I was living the dream, but one persons dream isn't always what it seems.
The Girl Who Goes to Community College
When people think of community college, they think that it’s a school for lazy people who will never amount to anything. This stigma is far from the truth, so if you are one of those judgmental people who throw shade, oh do I have some news for you. community college IS just as impressive as going to a university.
Kim McGlynnPublished 6 years ago in Education5 Things I Wish I Knew Before College
College. It's what we all dream about growing up. The new freedom, new friends, and new experiences that are all shown in television and movie portrayals of college. Well, I hate to burst any bubbles, but not everything on TV is true in real life. I am just going to be telling of my experiences and lessons learned as a sophomore in college. Who knows if you have come to or will come to my same realizations, but either way, this is what I wish I knew.

At the end of every year, we make our resolutions. "I vow to lose 20 pounds this year," or "I vow to finally visit London!" For the past three years, my resolutions have involved milestones that would be helpful in being to able to finally own a house. Towards the end of 2017, I found a broker and a real estate agent. I paid off massive amounts of credit card debt and was able to get my credit score high enough (upper 600's) to qualify for the first time home owners grant which would mean having low interest and zero money necessary down.

Corrin RegginelloPublished 6 years ago in EducationMaking the Tough Decisions
School is underway for most, no matter the level of education, such as high school, undergraduate college, community college, graduate programs, etc. Education is incredibly important, and doing well within school becomes a main goal, if not the most important thing to work towards for those who are studying. This can cause incredible amounts of stress and worry.
Lizzie CasellaPublished 6 years ago in EducationWhy University Is Perfect For Those Who Hated School
I won't lie to you all. I LOVED SCHOOL. Mostly, I loved being able to spend every second of those six hours with my best friends since I lived out of town and couldn't see them much out of school hours. I enjoyed learning and managed to find the perfect mix of mischievous banter and getting on with my work that I, for the most part, stayed on the good side of my teachers.
Jordan CaffPublished 6 years ago in EducationEvery Book Lover Needs to Know About This Website
I have been obsessed with books for as long as I can remember. For roughly the same amount of time, I’ve been skeptical of used books. Sure, they’re interesting and mysterious in theory, but I didn’t know where they had been, whose hands had touched them before me! I always preferred the smell of new books to used, giving me the illusion that I was the first one to ever discover this story, the first one to ever enter this fictional world.
