Ras Koh is located in Baluchistan in the area of Chagai District. The word Ras means gateway, and Koh means the mountain. So the meaning of the term Ras Koh is the gateway to the mountain. Ras Koh is a famous mountain in the history of Pakistan as the 1st nuclear test of the country was conducted here on 28 May 1998.

Ras Koh hills’ elevation is 600 meters (average) and reaches up to 3,000 meters. The Ras Koh Mountains are a hilly granite range of the giant Sulaiman Mountain range. The mountain ranges are barren, with no vegetation; therefore, people used to lead nomadic lives.

15. Sherpi Kangri
