When difficulties, trip up your footsteps of success when; When failure, contusion your enterprising ambition; When the burden, pressure you can not breathe, do not back down, do not give up, must persevere, because only perseverance, can lead to success!

Dear teachers and students,

Good morning! The topic of my speech today is "If you want to succeed, you must persist".

First of all, I want to share with you an interesting story: remember once, the great philosopher Socrates said to the students: "Today we only learn one thing is the simplest and easiest thing to do: everyone put their arms as far as possible forward." "Socrates demonstrated," from today on, do 300 times a day, you can do it? The students all laughed, such a simple thing, what can not be done! After a month, Socrates asked the students: "throw 300 times a day, which students adhere to?" Ninety percent of the class raised their hands proudly. Another month passed, Socrates asked again, this time, adhere to the students only 80%. A year later, Socrates asked everyone again: "Please tell me, the most simple hand movement, and which few students adhere to?" At this point, in the entire classroom, only one person raised his hand. That student was Plato, who later became another great philosopher of ancient Greece. The profound implications of this little story are obvious.

The great French Enlightenment thinker Boufeng once said: "Genius is long-term perseverance." "Our country's mathematician Hua said:" To do knowledge, to do research work, we must persevere. Indeed, if we want to succeed in anything, unremitting efforts and perseverance are essential. There are many such examples in ancient and modern China and abroad. Balzac wrote hard for sixteen or seven hours every day with his crazy effort. Even if his arms ached and his eyes wept, he would not waste a moment of time. That's why he was able to complete a series of masterpieces. What is the inspiration he gave us? I think he injected a strong spiritual force into each of us, that is, a clear goal, perseverance, and eventually success! The easiest thing in the world is to insist, the most difficult thing is to insist. It is easy because everyone can do it as long as they are willing to do it. It is difficult because only a few people can really do it.

Persistence is a kind of belief, persistence is a kind of accomplishment, persistence is a kind of noble quality.

But now some of our students in order to immediate interests, do not make a long-term plan, actually cheated in the exam, this is not the school spirit of Xinhai High School, not only let the school, teachers shame, but also lost the opportunity to test their own, and lose this opportunity, is equivalent to give up themselves, and ultimately nothing.

There is often only one step between success and failure. If you want to succeed, you must persist. It is a secret that is not mysterious. But only insist on diligence, but choose the wrong direction, it is sad. "Diligence" is not as long as there is value, deviated from the right direction, the wrong direction, is a rapid train off the track, you sweat, tears, blood, that end is "expected" and "not reachable". If you beautify the persistence of diligence into a touchstone, think that no matter what kind of decadence after its point will become magic, but this is like turning a stone into a brocade, a bunch of silk thread into a jade, perhaps strength, methods are appropriate, but the wrong object.

When difficulties, trip up your footsteps of success when; When failure, contusion your enterprising ambition; When the burden, pressure you can not breathe, do not back down, do not give up, must persevere, because only perseverance, can lead to success!

Thank you very much.
