Pakistan is the sixth most populous nation in the world. This article features some of such famous people who belong or relate in some way to this nation. From Muhammad Ali Jinnah to Shahid Afridi there are many Pakistani who have worldwide fame.

The country has some extra genius and talented people like Shahid Afridi, Irfa Kareem, Wasim Akram, Madam Noor Jahan, and Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. But, today we discuss some popular personalities who are currently working in their fields OR their work is alive although they’re no more like Eidhi. Below is a list of Top most popular Pakistani people of all time. The list is based on popularity, fan following and achievements, both positive and negative.

  • Shoaib Akhtar
  • Former Pakistani cricketer regarded as one of modern cricket's fastest bowlers. "Pindi Express" is its name. Shoaib Akhtar was born in a small town near Rawalpindi in the Punjab province. He is one of the fastest bowlers in the history of cricket. Akhtar holds several fast bowling records. He's bowled at 161.3kph, 160kph three times, 159kph, and 158.4kph.

    The three fastest were against New Zealand in 2002, and the other three were also against Sri Lanka in 2002. He was the first bowler in cricket history to be recorded bowling over 100 mph, though there were suggestions that others may have done so prior to the speed being recorded.

  • Wasim Akram
  • Wasim Akram is a well-known Pakistani cricketer who is regarded as one of the greatest fast bowlers in cricket history. He was a genuine left-arm fast bowler with significant pace, as well as a left-handed batsman who represented Pakistan in Test and One Day International (ODI) matches. He holds the world record for most List A wickets (881), and is only second to Sri Lankan off-spin bowler Muttiah Muralitharan in terms of ODI wickets (502).

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is often referred to as “Shahenshah-e-Qawwali” (the King of Kings of Qawwali). LA Weekly described him as the 4th greatest singer of all time.

  • Abdul Qadeer Khan, also respectfully known by some in Pakistan as Mohsin-e-Pakistan. Dr. A. Q. Khan, was a Pakistani nuclear scientist and a metallurgical engineer, colloquially regarded as the founder of HEU based Gas-centrifuge uranium enrichment program for Pakistan’s integrated atomic bomb project. He was one of Pakistan’s top scientists, and was involved in the country’s various scientific programs until his dismissal.

  • An Islamic theologian, philosopher, and Islamic scholar, Dr. Israr Ahmad is at No. 4 in our list of most popular Pakistani people. The founder of Tanzeem-e-Islami, Dr. Israr Ahmad wrote about 60 books about Islam and Pakistan. As of 2017, twenty nine books have been translated into several other languages, including in English.

    As of 2022, he is most followed Islamic scholar on Internet.

  • Cricketer who is famous all over the world. Former Pakistani cricketer Sahibzada Muhammad Shahid Khan Afridi is ranked third on the list. He is best known for his ferocious batting style. He holds the record for the fastest one-day international century, which he achieved in his first international innings, as well as scoring 32 runs in a single over.

    He also has the distinction of having hit the most sixes in ODI cricket history. In addition, he holds the record for the longest sixer in cricket history. He is the only cricketer in history to have hit 400 sixes. He has a massive fan base all over the world.

  • Abdul Sattar Edhi
  • Abdul Sattar Edhi, also known as Maulana Edhi, is the second most popular Pakistani. He was a well-known Pakistani humanitarian, philanthropist, social activist, and public figure. He was the founder and executive director of the Edhi Foundation. He and his wife, Bilquis Edhi, received the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Public Service in 1986.

    He also received the Lenin Peace Prize and the Balzan Prize. In recognition of his contributions, the Institute of Business Administration Pakistan awarded him an honoris causa degree of Doctor of Social Service Management in 2006. Edhi was also awarded an honorary Doctorate by the University of Bedfordshire in September 2010. Edhi was awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan in 1985.
