Many students from all over the world come to the United States to study medicine but studying medicine in the US is not an easy task. It comes with several challenges such as time, academic knowledge and finances. Students also face great difficulty when applying to schools in the US as the admission process is laborious and highly selective. If you are a student currently completing their education in their home country and are hoping to come to the US, it's best that you spare some time to complete your research and find a reliable company or person to say take my online course for me please.

Once you get that out of the way, let’s talk about your medical future in the US. If you want to study medicine in the US you are first required to complete your undergraduate study which is usually of four years. Schools in the US have different requirements but they usually require biology, chemistry and other science based subjects. Medical students are also required to complete the MCAT exam which is a Medical College Admissions Test. This test testifies whether the applicant has a competent knowledge and is familiar with different scientific concepts. If you get a high score on your MCAT you are likely to get an admission in the US.

International students are usually at disadvantage as compared to local students as public schools usually only cater to local students and do not extend their services to international students. So All these students are let into private universities which can be exceedingly expensive. You can go through several of these schools and see which one fits your preference or if you fit theirs.

Application Process

To fill out applications, international students must have their academic record from the undergraduate degrees. The original transcripts are usually required with the exceptions of photocopies. The students are also required to submit their MCAT scores. Many schools require students to submit letters of recommendation. These letters are usually written by the dean of your undergraduate institute. It outlines that the dean personally knows you and can guarantee that you are of sound character. They highlight all your positive attributes in an effort to testify that selecting you for further studies in the US will be a good decision. Most students disregard the importance of extracurricular activities but they hold great importance if you are applying for medical education in the US you must have an impressive list of extracurriculars. It can be interning at a hospital or participating in selective research based programs. You can also participate in different science fairs at school level or within your locality. Volunteer work is also appreciable by medical schools in the US. All these activities can increase your chances of being accepted in a good medical school.

Medical Residency

For your medical residency you must look at your specialty and the school you are applying at. Each school has different prerequisites for students with concerns to their residency programs. Some of them have internship years while others don’t. It really applies differently for each school and residency program. Usually the program lasts for 5-8 years at an average. Students are also required to apply for the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) program which is a three step examination, which once passed results in issuance of medical licensure and then further residency programs. This is a board exam; the first part is given after you complete your second year of medical school. The second part is attempted when you are in the fourth year of your medical degree. The last part is given in your first year of residency. These tests are set according to the US standards so you must be well prepared to pass your USMLE.

Tuition Fee

Medical studies are already very expensive but medical studies in the USA are the most expensive in the world. Students may believe that with scholarship the prices will come down but sadly there are no scholarships or financial aid for foreign students. These students are to pay the complete fee and are even required to prove they have a set amount required to complete 1 year of their degree. So students don’t just need enough funds to pay the fee for their degrees but should also have enough money to pay for their living expenses throughout their degree.

What It Is Like To Study In A Medical School In The US?

Foreign students usually have no idea what it’s like to study in a foreign country. In the US medical schools usually take up for years of your life followed by a residency. Students then have to take training for their specialization and practice. For foreign students it is always a good idea to take up a fellowship program which can last from 1 to 4 years.

It is no secret that medical studies are difficult but the US has a very extensive course for its medical students which makes it exceptionally hard. For the first year students are taken back with copious amounts of material to memorize along with several courses. In addition to theory based courses you will also have to attend practical lab based courses giving you an all rounded education. Classes are usually long. After taking an hour long lecture you will be asked to take a lab for several hours on end. In the first year, you may be asked to dissect different animals so that you have a practical experience of what bodies look like. Many schools also offer clinical rotations in their courses where students interact with real life patients. This is a great way to practice all that you learn and also get the ins and outs of communicating with patients. With the passage of time, just as your degree processes you will be given frequent clinical rotations to aid your learning.
