“People always ask me how to say the name,” Harlem Richard$ says with a laugh. “It’s pronounced Harlem Richards. The dollar sign is just the ‘s’. It’s visual branding more than anything.”

That small detail says a lot about the artist himself — creative, expressive, and intentional without trying too hard to be different.

Born on April 8, 1999, in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Harlem Richard$ grew up between Barrouallie and Bottle and Glass surrounded by Caribbean culture, soulful music, and emotional storytelling long before he ever started recording songs professionally.

“My mother used to play a lot of old love songs around me,” he says. “A lot of 90’s music, 80’s culture music, Afro music… those sounds stayed with me.”

That influence still lives inside his music today.

The Harlem Richard$ catalog blends emotional Afro R&B, soulful Afropop, Afro Soul, Hip Hop, and melodic Trap into a sound that feels deeply personal. “I never wanted the music to sound fake,” he says. “I wanted people to actually feel something.”
