I Found a Note Written by Someone Who Hasn’t Lived Yet
It had my name at the bottom.

The note wasn’t there yesterday.
I’m sure of that.
I keep my desk clean.
Not obsessively—but enough to notice when something doesn’t belong.
And that morning—
Something didn’t.
A single sheet of paper.
Folded neatly.
Placed right in the center.
I stared at it for a long time before touching it.
Something about it felt… wrong.
Not dangerous.
Just—
Out of place.
Still—
I opened it.
The handwriting was familiar.
Too familiar.
It was mine.
My stomach tightened.
The first line read:
“If you’re reading this, you’re already late.”
I laughed under my breath.
“Nah… someone’s messing with me.”
But no one had access to my room.
No one.
I kept reading.
“Don’t panic. That makes it worse.”
Worse?
My fingers tightened around the paper.
“You’re going to hear something at 11:26 PM tonight.”
I checked the time.
10:03 AM.
“Okay… weird coincidence,” I muttered.
But the note continued.
“When you hear it—do not respond.”
A chill ran down my spine.
“No matter what it sounds like.”
I swallowed.
This wasn’t funny anymore.
I flipped the page.
More writing.
Messier this time.
Rushed.
“I didn’t listen. That’s why this is happening.”
My chest tightened.
“What is happening?”
No answer.
Just ink on paper.
At the bottom—
A signature.
My name.
But not how I write it.
Older.
Shakier.
Like someone who had been through something.
I dropped the note.
“This is stupid.”
I crumpled it.
Threw it in the trash.
Tried to forget it.
Tried.
But all day—
It stayed in my head.
11:26 PM.
The number wouldn’t leave me alone.
That night—
I stayed awake.
Not because I believed the note.
But because I couldn’t ignore it.
11:24 PM.
My room was silent.
11:25 PM.
I stared at the clock.
11:26 PM.
A sound.
Soft.
Familiar.
My phone ringing.
I froze.
Unknown number.
The note flashed in my mind.
Do not respond.
The phone kept ringing.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
I reached for it—
Then stopped.
“No,” I whispered.
It stopped ringing.
Silence.
I exhaled slowly.
“See? Nothing.”
Then—
A knock.
On my door.
Three times.
Slow.
Deliberate.
My heart started racing.
Another line from the note—
No matter what it sounds like.
“Who is it?” I called out.
No answer.
Just another knock.
Louder this time.
I stood slowly.
“This is stupid…”
I walked toward the door.
My hand hovered over the handle.
Then—
I remembered something.
The note.
I rushed to the trash.
Pulled it out.
Unfolded it.
There was more writing now.
New lines.
They weren’t there before.
“You’re about to open it.”
My breath caught.
“I did too.”
My hands shook.
“Don’t.”
The knock came again.
More aggressive.
“Open the door.”
My blood ran cold.
That voice—
It was mine.
Exactly mine.
Same tone.
Same pitch.
Same everything.
“No…” I whispered.
“If you open it,” the note continued, “it will learn you.”
My chest tightened.
“Learn me…?”
The voice outside spoke again.
“Why are you ignoring me?”
I stepped back from the door.
“No. No, this isn’t real.”
The handle moved.
Slowly.
Turning.
I backed away.
“What do I do?” I whispered, staring at the note.
More words appeared.
Right in front of me.
“It’s too late for me.”
My throat tightened.
“But not for you.”
The door creaked open.
Just slightly.
A thin line of darkness visible through the gap.
“You already opened it once,” the note read.
I froze.
“What?”
“You just don’t remember.”
The room felt smaller.
Colder.
“What does that mean?”
The final line appeared.
Slowly.
Like it was being written in real time.
“Look behind you.”
I stopped breathing.
“No…”
The voice outside whispered softly—
“Turn around.”
I squeezed my eyes shut.
“I’m not doing this.”
Silence.
Then—
A breath.
Right behind me.
Not from the door.
From inside the room.
My eyes snapped open.
And slowly—
I turned.
Standing there—
Was me.
But wrong.
Its smile stretched too far.
Its eyes didn’t blink.
And in its hand—
Was another note.
It held it out to me.
Still smiling.
I didn’t take it.
I couldn’t move.
Then—
It spoke.
Softly.
“You’re early this time.”
The lights went out.
My phone buzzed.
I didn’t need to check it.
I already knew what it would say.
Because I had written it.
And tomorrow—
I would find it.
On my desk.
Waiting.
