Start off by doing your very best at every challenge faced in life. But if you really do believe that is is a waste of your time, then you are allowed to half-ass. Just make sure that you put something; anything down for every question. Never leave anything blank so that you can at least get partial credit. You need to meet the expectations of your parents and grades are a surefire way to do so.

Admit you suck at stuff. Say that you literally don't understand, not as an excuse but as acknowledgement that you cannot do everything. You still need to pay attention though, or at least pretend you are, then self teach when you get home.

Don’t let anyone tell you how to learn. If your teacher insists on notebook checks and notes simply slow you down, then fuck it. Don't take notes, take the 0, and accept it. Accept that you still learned and fully understood the material in your own way. Accept that you and only you, know how your mind works. Accept that it’s a superficial grade put there to help but actually sets you back. Accept that you can't win them all.

To be a mediocre student, you need to think. By that I don't mean mull over math problems in your head , but really think. Get lost in your thoughts. Bask in the light of daydreams. Zone the fuck out. Do this often. Just focus on something, then nothing. Shut your eyes and ignore the stimuli and sensory for as long as you can. It will begin to come to you pretty naturally sooner or later. You'll be surprised at how much you learn.

To be a mediocre student you must dabble in the elegant art of not giving a shit. Make sure you know your limits, and don't submerge yourself completely or else you will begin to drown in your worries. You need to realize that some things, you simply cannot care about.

Do what is required of you. If and only if something inspires you, drives you, compels you, invokes that “I can't sleep until this is done” feeling, then and only then should you go above and beyond. If you don't truly care for it like it is the only legacy you will leave behind, shoot for a B+ and pray for an A.

Evolve your handwriting just as you should evolve yourself. To be a mediocre student you cannot be uniform.

As a mediocre student, you don't strive to be the best. You strive to do your best and create what what you like. Do not conform to anyone else's opinion.

Create an intricate goal. Dream it and put yourself into the setting, and imagine you've accomplished it. Now that all of that, put it on the back burner, and change your goal. You new goal is to be happy. This is one achievement that should last a lifetime, you should never be able to quite cross it off your bucket list.

Sometimes you're going to have to say no. Be completely insubordinate. Only you know your capabilities and intellect. So you mustn't let anyone hold you back. Hindrance will come in many forms. “ You seems stressed” No, I just have alot I want to have accomplished. “ you need to sleep” I’ll sleep when it's finished, it will be my reward. “ I’m worried about your stress levels.” I'm only stressed because you keep asking questions. Make sure you are nice to these people however firmly let them know that you are in the zone at the moment, and they should go away.

If you're trying to become a mediocre student chances are that you have the attention span of a goldfish. Others may see it as a bad thing, but you should take it as a gift. Use this “easily distracted-ness” to the best of your ability. When your supposed to be listening to something your mind is thinking about 20 million other things. Realize that inspiration and creativity come and leave as they please. Understand that these things cannot be rushed. Take advantage of you scrambled thoughts. Begin writing in the margins. By a ton of sticky notes, and go through them all in a week.

Start being messy; unorganized. Life’s too short to waste unnecessary time. But if you do want to be a mediocre student then you do need to keep one thing clean...your room. You room should be a sacred place where your ideas come alive. Therefore, you room should be described as a cleanly mess. It should be neat enough for you to find what you need when you need it, however dont stress the little things like folding socks. For the most part that is what being a mediocre student is about; focusing on the bigger picture rather than the minor flaws. Being a mediocre student is putting all your energy into being happy rather than being the absolute best. Being a mediocre student is about also letting the world shape your knowledge rather than only the ideas of those locked with you in a closed off classroom.
