What is that one force which controls the smooth functioning of a nation? Imagine, if people are left entirely free at their whims, then the land would become loose and cluttered. There is a certain way in which every process is conducted to meet the national goals. To maintain that, proper law and order are imposed so that everyone comes to a common ground to live in peace and harmony. In regard to this, there are many law programs at UG and PG level, which provide focused training to its students to become capable law professionals of tomorrow.

So indeed, the law is that force which binds every critical aspect of a nation to ensure its smooth function and order. Let’s explore it more.

Law Courses and Colleges

Legal studies are all about understanding the smooth functioning of the nation. It explores the constitution of India, civics and more. There are many law schools in India. One of the most prominent ones is the Jindal Global law school. It offers law courses under various curriculum, i.e. three years program, five years program and more. The most common one is a three-year LLB course. This program is essentially designed in lines with the current guidelines of the Bar Council of India. This is one of the most important parameters while choosing a law school. This school aim to foster leaders of tomorrow. The idea is to keep up the students with the current scenario. The motivation behind it is to skill-up the students to apply their studies in the practical world.

Legal Studies Curriculum

This program is well equipped to evoke conceptual consciousness of the students and at the same time, tries to bring their innate talent practically by providing them with hands-on experience to them. The curriculum includes:-

1. Candidates are offered fixed subjects along with a choice of choosing an elective.

2. Every sister has a certain number of credit associated with it. For example, JGLS has four credits for each semester.

3. Students are also provided with the opportunity to conduct their own research work.

4. Some of the common subjects which students are taught in LLB courses are Legal methods, Family law, etc.

5. Students are not only trained in theoretical subjects, but they are also exposed to practical projects. They get the chance to attend moot courts and direct internships with experienced professionals. In this way, they are exposed to the actual scenario.

Careers in Law- Students get a wide-ranging opportunity in this field. They can work as a consultant or legal advisors. There are options in the corporate law field as well. With the advancing times, new opportunities are also emerging. At JGLS, students got placed in some of teh prominent firms like Amarchand Mangaldas, AZB & Partners, Fox Mandal Little, Luthra & Luthra Law Offices, Nishith Desai Associates, etcetera. Students are usually offered a starting salary of Rs 4 LPA and above. They observe a raise as they grow in experience and practice.

Eligibility Criteria of LLB 3 Year Course

As the foremost step, aspiring candidates are supposed to fulfil the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the university guidelines. Most of the colleges accept a standard National entrance test score. While others conduct their personalised entrance test. The standard eligibility guidelines are described below: -

i. Candidates must hold a minimum bachelor’s degree such as BBA, BCom, etcetera.

ii. One must secure a minimum of 45% marks in graduation.

iii. Candidates will be assessed based on their entrance examination.

Now, lastly, apart from the eligibility criteria, there is yet one of the most crucial criteria which students must keep in mind before applying for this course. It is an intensive program. Only those who genuinely feel the desire to contribute here must go for it lest it becomes mechanical in the long run.
