One of the novels written by Marilyn Robinson's "Gilead". It was first published in 2004 The novel won a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2005 The book also won the National Book Critics Circle Award. This is Robinson's second novel. Housekeeping is the first novel.

Gilead is an epistolary novel, as the whole narrative is a single, continuous, episodic, document, written on multiple occasions in a combination of a journal and a memoir.

Gilead is recognized as a text. It works to correct modern misconceptions about John Calvin Calvinism and Puritans. The novel has been at the center of discussions about multiculturalism. Professor Christopher Douglas comments that the novel creates a contemporary Christian multicultural identity. The complexities of 'Christian slavery' are clearly illustrated in the book.

The novel "Gilead" was included in the list of the top 100 most influential novels published by BBC News on 5 November 2019. The novel also became the second best-selling book of the 21st century published by the Guardian in the same year.

English author Dodie Smith's first novel is "I Capture Castle". The book was written during World War II, when the author and her husband, Alec Beesley, moved to California. He was longing for a home.

Apart from mentioning living in 1930 in the novel, he also wrote about a happy time. He was already well-known as an established playwright. He later became famous for writing the classic children's novel, The Hundred and One Dalmatians.

The novel is set in a bizarre family living in a dilapidated castle in the 1930s, related to Mortman's adventures. They were struggling to live in decent poverty. The narrator first tells a story about handing over the property to a cooperative and intelligent teenager.

It is an advent-age story where Cassandra goes from being a girl in the beginning to becoming a young woman in the end.

The novel was ranked 82nd in the BBC's The Big Read survey in 2003. In addition, the novel "I Capture Castle" was included in the list of the top 100 most influential novels published by BBC News on 5 November 2019.

In 1963, Walt Disney Productions announced plans to film the novel with Hailey Mills as Cassandra. But Smith and screenwriter Sally Benson disagreed and eventually dropped the project, retaining the rights to the Disney movie.

But Disney denied film rights to any other studio until after Smith's death in the late 1990s, until there was a sharp legal advantage, which turned into a 2003 BBC film production. In 2003, the BBC made a feature film. Romola Gorai has played the role of Cassandra in it

The Color Purple Book Review

A novel about letters is written by American author Alice Walker. The name of the novel is "Color Purple". The book won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1983. At the same time, it has won the National Book Award for Fiction.

The novel "Color Purple" was included in the list of the top 100 most influential novels published by BBC News on 5 November 2019. A movie called The Novel was made in 1985. The movie was directed by Steven Spielberg. Danny Glover as Albert and Oprah Winfrey as Sophia.

The film was nominated for eleven Academy Awards. Many critics considered this movie to be the best movie of the year.
