Content is basically all around us. No matter what we do, or where we go, we will find content around us. Wherever we go around the city, we will find words and phrases around us that are regarded as content. Be it advertisements or any billboard, there will always be content and phrases around us. The thing about content is that without any strategy or clear goal setting, all the content you write can go to complete waste.

If you are ever asked to define what content actually is, it might be a very simple task for you. All the blogs that you see or the articles that you read are all basic definitions of content itself. However, there are few people that don't understand the meaning and the difference between content strategy and content marketing. Having a strategy for your content does not mean that it is a part of content marketing.

The two are different concepts that need to be understood and acknowledged in different ways. These two concepts are not interchangeable and many people confuse the two as the same. It is true that the core concepts of content marketing and content strategy are the same and might overlap one another on different aspects, but these two are rather different.

It is essential for you as an individual to understand the difference between two and how both the things are important in the creation of content. There are multiple differences between content marketing and content strategy and they are discussed below.

Talking About Content Strategy

In simple layman terms, content strategy is the basic plan to everything you create. As the name is self explanatory, you develop ways and strategies to what you will be creating. It is something that is not as visibly available as something might be, as it lives under the surface of your content. Everything that you do needs to have a reason, and so does your content. You need to possess strategic reasons as to why you are creating the content you create, and how will it positively affect your business. The strategy that you create will include all the points as to when the content would be created, who will it be created by, who shall keep it updated and on what basis will the content be judged at. There are certain questions that need to be asked and answered in order to clear the differences between content strategy and content marketing.

Why are you Creating Content?

In order to make sure about what is being done, you need to understand why you are doing that. In the field of marketing, you need to constantly ask yourselves, why? Why is the content being created? What benefit will it provide? Do you aim to create brand authority? Or rather are you trying to explain your products and services to the general public? There is no point in creating a content that has no reason for existence and you need to know all the why’s if you would like to create the perfect content strategy.

Who will create content and when will it be created?

The answer to this question should not be too complicated for anyone. It does not matter if you are working in a small or large company, there are not many options that you have in this case. You can either spend nights and hours trying to write the content yourself, or you could hire a freelancer and ask them to do the job for you.

Once you are done with the ‘who’, you need to ask the time that you would be needing to work and do everything that you need to. The most simple and famous solution has always been to create a content calendar and create them in advance of a month or weeks before the actual time.

Content Marketing

Content strategy is the first thing that needs to be done while creating a product for your business. This is because once you have created the content strategy, content marketing is next in line. You have the strategy, you have the plan, now you need to make sure about the content marketing. For people who are unaware of what content marketing is all about, you need to know that it is a strategy that uses the content that is provided on the websites and is used to engage with potential customers to increase leads and improved search results.

Difference between Content marketing and Content Strategy

The difference between content marketing and content strategy is not that difficult, it is what thought and research you put in the two and expect different outcomes. Content strategy is the plan that needs to be developed and created in order to publicise and plan your product. However, marketing is what comes after the strategy. Although these two concepts are contradicting one another, they are incomplete without the two. There are many students that take up the help of academic writing services to get their content made because it is not that simple to create one.

The two Interlink Each Other

If you need to understand the relation between the two factors, remember that you can not market without a strategy, and you can not strategise before marketing. You need both of these things to succeed. This is not easy to pull off. Many students take academic writing services help in order to create good content for their academic purposes. The strategy and the marketing together are very important, as you need the strategy to stay on focus and on track while you need the content marketing to execute the strategy that you have just created. It might sound like a tough job and something that requires a lot of work, but in reality it's not that much of a tough job. It is just basic planning and looking for ways to execute that plan and get the most out of it. Many students start practising writing content in their academic careers as well while they use academic writing services to ease their workload and focus on these other skills.
