New Delhi: After the decision to open schools in many states including UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, the Delhi Government has announced the reopening of schools from September 01.

Today, on 27 August 2021, after the meeting of Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and Expert Committee, it has been decided to open schools in the state.

Deputy CM Manish Sisodia gave this important information

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and State Education Minister Manish Sisodia says that at present, senior students i.e. students of class 9 to 12 can come to school for offline classes. He also said that students should come to the school with the permission of their parents and no school will put pressure on them. According to the Deputy CM, in a survey conducted by the Delhi government, about 70 percent of the parents are in favor of reopening the school.

Decreasing Delhi Covid Cases

In fact, schools in Delhi were closed since the outbreak of COVID-19 in March 2020. Now, as the cases are decreasing in the capital, the Delhi government is preparing a plan to reopen the schools. An important decision has been taken regarding the same today, August 27, 2021.

As per the data shared by the state health department, on Thursday, Delhi recorded no death due to COVID-19, while 45 new cases were reported with a positivity of 0.06 per cent.

Decision taken after meeting of DDMA and Expert Committee

Keeping in view the Kovid-19 infected cases in the state, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority along with the Expert Committee has decided to reopen the school.

Schools will be opened in this order

The Expert Committee constituted by DDMA had suggested that schools in Delhi should be opened in a phased manner. The committee had suggested that, first of all, offline classes for senior students i.e. higher classes should be started. After this, schools should be reopened for the students of small classes. After review of COVID-19 infected cases, primary schools should be opened.

CM Arvind Kejriwal said this thing

At present, students of classes 9 to 12 will be called to school at 50% capacity from the first week of September. However, before this, CM Arvind Kejriwal has not given any reaction on this.

He had said in a statement that, “There have been mixed experiences from other states. We are still monitoring the situation. We do not want to take any kind of risk with the children. We want the school to go to school as soon as possible. Open soon, as and when its decision is taken, we will tell. The decision will be taken keeping in mind the report given by the committee.”

Guidelines for opening schools in Delhi

Whatever schools, colleges, institutes will be opened, social distance will be strictly followed. No child shall be compelled to come to school. The permission of the parents is necessary to send the children to school and if their permission is not given then no child will be forcibly called and absent for the same. In this way both online and offline classes will continue.

Why the decision to open a school in Delhi?

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that schools from nursery to class 12 have been opened in five states. Schools of 6th to 12th have been opened in a dozen states.

In such a situation, a decision has been taken in Delhi also. The Delhi government has taken this decision after careful consideration and consultation with experts.

What do parents say on opening a school in Delhi

Sisodia said that the government had sought their opinion from thousands of parents of Delhi. 70 percent of the people said that schools should be opened now. Very few people were in favor of not opening the school. Most people believed that schools should be opened and opened gradually. He said that we have run special campaigns to vaccinate the teachers of Delhi in a month. In government schools, 90 percent of the teachers and other staff have taken at least one dose. Most of the staff in private schools have also been vaccinated.

What if the child got corona when the school opened in Delhi?

When the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi was asked whether a child was found to be corona positive when the school opened, what would be the decision. On this, Sisodia said that soon a special SOP will be issued to deal with such a situation.
