Cleaner production is basically an environmental strategy that is applied to the processes, services and products for increasing the efficiency of a system and for reducing the hazards that are threat to human life and atmosphere. It is basically a technique that helps us to recognize the causes due to which company is losing resources in the form of pollution and how we can reduce these losses. Cleaner production helped us in number of ways. It helps us to attain a sustainable environment by reducing the cost of end of pipe treatment, providing better health to employees, reducing the consumption of energy and water, producing better quality waste.

In order to implement CP-SD strategy we need to expand CP directly to developing countries in addition to developed once to gain green economy.

CP is basically a continuous approach that aims to prevent the generation of pollution rather than after cleaning. This strategy helps in saving the cost for cleaning up. It has an integrated approach that means it is applied to daily operations. It is used to identify the improvement in environmental performance of an industry. It helps to identify how processes are performed, the products and the operations that are used.
