Bollywood is the nickname for the Indian film industry, which produces about 200 films a year. Bollywood films are watched in many countries including India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Bollywood movies have been gaining international popularity as well.

It was not until the 1960s that Bollywood films started to really become popular. As of 2010, the industry made around $2 billion per year, mostly from domestic ticket sales. Below are some of the blogs about movies and videos resolution:

The first Bollywood film was produced in 1913, and by 1931 there were 100 films each year. In 2008, almost 1 billion tickets were sold in India each year, which put it second only to Hollywood in a number of ticket sales.

It is one of the largest centres of film production in the world. In 2001 ticket sales, Indian cinema (including Bollywood) sold an estimated 3.6 billion tickets worldwide, compared to Hollywood's 2.6 billion tickets sold.

The entertainment industry is one of the biggest economic sectors around the world. The film industry alone is valued at $88 billion, with India’s share being $2 billion.

When Did Bollywood Movies Start

Bollywood movies have been produced in India since 1913. These movies are a part of Indian cinema and Hindi language films, which encompasses the greater cinema of India.

Bollywood is a portmanteau for Bombay (the former name for Mumbai) and Hollywood, the centre of the American film industry. The name Bollywood was created in the 1970s when India overtook America as the world's largest film producer. I

Indian cinema produces more films watched by more people than any other country; 900 to 1,000 full-length feature films are produced in various languages every year. By 2003, India boasted more than 1,600 theatres with more than 1,000 seats each.

How Bollywood Movies Make Money

Bollywood movies make money in various ways, including ticket sales, music sales and brand placement. However, this revenue has to be divided in various ways, including paying the actors and actresses, who are the biggest stars of Bollywood.

The primary source of income for any movie is selling tickets at theatres. Ticket sales account for over 40% of the revenue from a movie. The other sources include selling music albums online or on CDs and having brand placements.

Brand placements are when brands pay to have their product shown in a movie or an album and it contributes to an estimated 20% of the total revenue generated by a movie.

Why Bollywood Movies are Failing

Bollywood has been doing a lot of experiments with movies. But most have failed, or have not had the desired impact. These experiments have included remaking classic movies which were so popular in the past, that they are almost like a religion to Indians, especially those who grew up in the 80s.

The recent remake of Sholay was a disaster, but what it did was to make us nostalgic about the original movie.

In an interview with a leading newspaper, Anupam Kher, who acted in decades of Bollywood movies, said that Indian filmmakers should stop remaking Hollywood movies.

He also remarked that if we must remake Hollywood movies then we should not be using the same name of the original movie. Instead, we should change it to something else.

Why Bollywood Movies Have Many Songs

y people wonder why the Indian film industry, Bollywood, has so many songs. The answer is that the songs are used to tell the story of the movie.

The audience doesn't just want to see a good-looking man and woman fall in love; they want to see how love develops between them. This is where the song comes in.

A love song gives the director a chance to show two people enjoying each other's company and falling in love. These scenes are accompanied by dialogue which moves the storyline along.

The storyline might be about a man who has lost his family in an accident and discovers his childhood sweetheart, who he thought had died years ago, is still alive.

Bollywood movies are very long because they have so many songs. A typical movie lasts around three hours, while Hollywood movies tend to last closer to two hours.

In addition to romantic songs, there are also sad songs. These can be used when one of the characters is alone after losing a loved one or even when they're feeling sad about their own lives.

A sad song provides the hero or heroine with a chance to express their feelings and make those watching feel more sympathetic towards them.
