Many of us are familiar with the term “Americanized,” but have we heard of “Americanizing”? Although they have similar definitions, they are two different things. To Americanize someone or something is to make them more typical of Americans in appearance, customs, or language. On the other hand, Americanizing refers to the influence of American culture and business on other countries outside the United States. This can include their media, cuisine, business practices, popular culture, technology, or political techniques. However, these concepts can be detrimental to people around the globe.

Recently, there has been a lot of talk about TikTok, which is owned by the Chinese company ByteDance. Several US lawmakers are concerned about China’s influence over TikTok and fear that ByteDance could be forced by the Chinese government to hand over data of millions of US users. Therefore, the US government is trying to take it over, which has made many Americans mad. Some people see this move as similar to colonizing someone else’s property or business.

The United States is far behind other countries like China, Africa, and Japan are far way ahead than them. This is a cause for concern and is something that needs to be addressed.

Throughout history, Americans have often colonized or taken over territories, whether it is taking land from the native Americans or stealing rich resources and claiming them as their own. Ironically, Americans often portray other countries as poor, aggressive, or war starters when, in fact, Americans have been involved in stealing, killing, and taking over lands from the very beginning. Although America is often considered the best place to live and a safe place for foreigners, the reality is that as soon as they arrive, they often find that the American dream is far from what they had hoped for. It can be a sinister and different experience altogether.

You may also ask me about the American dream. In my opinion, the American dream is the idea that you can achieve success and prosperity through hard work and determination, regardless of your social class or economic status. However, not many people get the opportunity to realize this so-called American dream.

Overall I like being an American but the biggest fear I have is that America would slowly be behind other countries and then other countries would use are slow progression to eliminate us in everything.

We all ideal America to be this huge country full of diversity, but have we educated ourselves to know that America isn't the land of freedom? Many groups of people have experienced these situations including immigrants coming from different countries not getting paid the same amount as their coworkers or not getting treated right in the education system I've concluded that many people who have the American dream including people of color usually it would be based on a certain class, money, education, and workspace, we have to stop and think for a moment when it comes to promoting certain privileges that people may or may not have.

But everyone has their version of the American dream, I have mine you have yours we all dream of being successful in life, traveling the world, being financially free not having to work for the government, and making our own money by doing nothing. But the reality is, is that many people do not get a chance to experience the American dream due to poverty, low pay, low income, and family issues sometimes even the education system does not help people when it comes to giving them ideas to start a business or even getting into top schools. So the reality is that many people won't ever get that chance because certain privileges
