AWS Edge Locations are points of presence (PoPs) for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Content Delivery Network (CDN), called Amazon CloudFront. They are located in various cities around the world and serve as a distribution point for content delivery from the nearest location to the end user.

Edge locations are specifically designed to provide low latency and high data transfer speeds for end users accessing content hosted on AWS. They are used to cache frequently accessed content, reduce latency and improve the overall user experience.

As of my knowledge cutoff date of September 2021, AWS has over 240 edge locations in 84 cities across 42 countries. The exact number of locations and cities may have changed since then due to AWS constantly expanding its global network infrastructure.

AWS Edge Locations are used by a variety of individuals and organizations for a range of purposes. Here are some of the main users of AWS Edge Locations:

Content Providers: AWS Edge Locations are commonly used by content providers such as media companies and online streaming services to deliver content to users more quickly and efficiently.

AWS Regions:

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a cloud computing platform that provides a wide range of services to businesses and individuals. AWS Regions refer to geographical locations around the world where AWS data centers are located. Each AWS Region consists of multiple availability zones (AZs) that are isolated from each other to provide fault tolerance and high availability.

As of 2021, AWS has 25 Regions around the world, with multiple AZs in each Region. The Regions are:
