Taking admission in a college is a great investment of both time and money. A degree can help you earn a great worth in the future years and also reach your dream job and the success you want in life. But is it all that you owe from your college? College is responsible for giving some experiences that are worth a lifetime. It is often said that the friends that you will be making in your college life would remain forever.

They would be the best of your friends and would face the same challenges as you and most of the times would have the same aspiration as you and hence, the understanding between you would be great. You will enjoy each other’s company, can plan studies together and sometimes job hunting too. College like ISB Hyderabad, will teach you some lessons that would be valued forever in your life. Let us discuss seven things that you would be forever cherishing in your life and would increase your worth even more than the degree.

Discipline

This is probably the best thing that you will learn in college. However, this won’t be a nice experience while in college but regular years of practice are sure to make you disciplined by your subconscious mind, if not consciously. Automatically you will start remaining more organized, completing tasks before due dates and reaching a place before time. Sometimes this may make you feel that you are not the same person anymore. But you can totally trust on this, the change is for good. You would be immensely respected and appreciated for these habits in your work phase of life and college is preparing you just for that.

Gain skills on your own

College is no more a systematic course outline like school where almost everything was spoon fed. You don’t get regular reminders of assignments by teachers, your parents are no more behind you to score better and even your friends don’t talk about completing the assignments. It’s all about your own sincerity. If you want to do additional courses, you need to do them on your own. If you want to gain some skills, you yourself need to participate in related events and gain those skills. The skills required in the job market and not the skills that you are taught as a part of the course. You have to learn to develop skills on your own. This would be very helpful in your work life where you would need to pick up skills from your fellow colleagues or your boss on your own.

Time management is not a problem anymore

Remember how your mother needed to call you every morning to go to school? This is not needed anymore. You can still party till late night, complete your assignments and still attend the early morning classes the next day. This would be very helpful in your work life when you would need to manage your work and social life.

You become a pro at conversing

College makes you a fluent converser. You need to converse with professors, fellow classmates, friends and sometimes supervisors of your internships. You need to converse with different people for different reasons and sometimes some conversations are tough. They are not easy. While these situations occur a few time in your college days, these may occur regularly in your work life. Thus, these tough tasks in college is preparing you for the things that you are going to face in near future.

You will learn managing stress

College is never easy. There will be projects, exams, internships and social life, all these at once sometimes. You would be under tremendous pressure but learn to overcome all with flying colours. You would soon learn that stressing on a situation hardly works. What you need to do is relax and keep working.

You will learn to take and give help

College will make you an amazing team worker. You would learn that sometime you need help and in return of help, you can help people too.

You will strengthen your internal values

There will be several times when you will feel like giving up all and forget your internal values. But those are the times when you will learn to strengthen your values and whatever be the result be true to yourself.
