1. Reassure your child to face fears

Any tensed situations make us overly-anxious. We tend to avoid these times in our life. A student faces their anxiety and can overcome being anxious in their natural manner. The body slowly adapts to the situations and turns normal. You, as their mentor, should be the motivational factor to help overcome stress in children. You should take the extra initiative to let them face their fear and not to run away.

2. Convey your child that being imperfect is alright

Tell your child that it is okay to be imperfect sometimes. In the fast pace of life, many children try to succeed in extracurricular activities, sports, academics, and other performances. And most of the stress in children makes them struggle hard to do well in all aspects. But amid this, we forget that they have their desires in life. Many schools believe in success and fame. It is not that one should stop striving, as it is essential to encourage the students to work hard. You should embrace the mistakes, imperfections, and anxiety in children in a positive manner.

3. Focus on its positive aspects

In most times, the anxiety in children and stress in children pushes them to get lost in negative thoughts and starts self-criticizing. 5. Reward them for good behaviour

As a dutiful parent, reward your child for his brave behaviour. Shower them with praises and accolades, a tight hug, or something tangible items like a sticker or a delicious treat. Never confuse between bribery. It is not the same. Your reward stands as a motivational factor for your child. It also helps to overcome the stress in children.

6. Buoy up for routine sleep

Anxiety in children hampers their sleep. You have to take a call in this critical situation. Set a bedtime for your child and follow the same. Be a bit strict and follow even on weekends. The 35 to 40 minutes bedtime routine aids your child transiting from the other activities of the day. The more their brain relaxes, the better they can concentrate on their work.

7. Nudge your child in expressing their anxiety

If your child is overly anxious, encourage them to overcome by discussing the same. Be a friend to them. Try not to imply strict measures on them, as they might never unwind. Validate their experiences by saying encouraging anecdotes. Followed by that discuss your child’s fears and emotions. By this, you will succeed in curbing the stress in children and also the anxiety in them.

8. Solve your child’s problems

Once after validating your child’s emotions, help them to solve the problem. It is not the typical problem-solving of their day-to-day issues. It is more into coming up with possible solutions. 9. Keep calm

The parents have always been the guiding light to the young brains. They look forward to their parents for proper guidance. Ask your child to take a deep breath but in a slow manner. Tell them to think that they are relaxing somewhere on the beach or mountains, lying on the hammock. It will help them in focussing on one particular place, and slowly their concentration level will rise. They can do this during their anxiety-provoking times as well. It will thus help in keeping out anxiety in children.
