In 1977, NASA successfully launched the Voyager series of probes, which is also the first time in human history, the launch of space probes, in order to celebrate this great moment, as well as in order to allow civilizations outside the solar system, the opportunity to discover the existence of the Earth and human civilization, scientists also in Voyager 1 and Voyager 2, both carrying the "Earth business card "So, now 44 years have passed, they really left the solar system?

"Voyager 1 has been flying for 44 years and still has not left the solar system

According to the U.S. Popular Science, now 44 years have passed, but unfortunately, the most distant "Voyager 1" probe from Earth, although it has flown 20.9 billion kilometers, but still has not left the solar system, today, the Earth can still receive the Voyager series of probes for us to send back Today, the Earth can still receive news from the Voyager series of probes for us, but about 2045, they will be completely lost with the Earth one after another.

Take Voyager 1, since the 1980s, after successfully flying through the Saturn system, Voyager 1 has been flying toward the outer reaches of the solar system, and did not pass any planet again on the way, now, it finally reached the edge of the solar system, but was prevented by a huge mysterious force.

This mysterious force is the "top of the solar wind layer", where there is a lot of space radiation, but also let the speed of Voyager 1 had to slow down, so it takes about how long, it can break through the top of the solar wind layer gravitational control, officially leave the solar system?

The answer is that it will take another 300 years, and that is a very optimistic answer, bearing in mind that modern scientific research suggests that there is still a layer of Oort cloud in the outer reaches of our solar system.

If this conjecture is true, then, about 300 years later, Voyager 1 in fact just entered the Oort cloud, and the radius of Oort is about 1 light year, want to completely fly out of the solar system, it will take another 10-20,000 years.

Does the Oort cloud really exist?

What is the Oort cloud? Simply put, it is the solar system after the birth, said the residual nebula, the middle of the last century, scientists have put forward a conjecture about the Oort cloud, however, because the current human detection technology is still deficient, so we still know very little about the outer reaches of the solar system, therefore, whether the Oort cloud really exists or not, need to be further implemented.

Speaking of which, the reason why scientists speculate that Oort exists is because when studying comets in the solar system, the origin of these comets, has not been able to find the answer, so that some researchers proposed that perhaps these comets are from the outermost layer of the solar system, that there are at least hundreds of millions of comets in existence.

From the existing theory, the radius of Oort is about 0.8 light years - 3.2 light years, if this is true, it also means that, in fact, we are not so far from the nearest Proxima, too.

Today, through several studies, it has been possible to indirectly prove the existence of the Oort cloud, the first one is the long-period comets, through the study of their orbits, scientists found that they are from more distant than the Kuiper belt, then, since the long-period comets are also orbiting around the Sun, controlled by the Sun's gravity, as a member of the solar system, naturally means that it comes from the Oort cloud.

In addition, through computer modeling, scientists also found that the Oort cloud is very likely to exist, but unfortunately, if you want to understand it through Voyager 1, it is impossible, because in a few years, it will lose contact with the Earth.

Voyager 1 makes humans desperate?

Why do you say that the flight path of the Voyager 1 probe makes mankind despair? Because in past studies, scientists once thought it had flown out of the solar system in 2019, but later found out that it had not.

At the same time, when Voyager 1 traveled in the Kuiper Belt, it also "looked back" and took a picture of the Earth, in this photo, the Earth is very small, even negligible, looks like a small bright spot in general.

This also means that from the scope of the galaxy, or even from the universe, whether it is the Earth or human beings, in fact, are insignificant.

Today, with the current speed of human forward, even in the absence of the Oort cloud, human want to fly away from the solar system, it will take 300-400 years, and still in the middle without stopping at all, if the Oort cloud exists, then, human will never be able to fly away from the solar system.

Coupled with the human life expectancy limit of 120 years, all this means that human civilization will probably be trapped in the solar system and never be able to go further away, which, it must be said, is indeed desperate for humans whose dream is the starry sea.
