View of the Earth from the Moon

The closest star to Earth

Facing the stars in the universe, human beings have always wished to leave their own "interstellar footsteps" in it. There are so many mysteries in the vault of the universe that we do not know. Late at night, we always look at the bright moon hanging in the sky and imagine the stories that happen at the upper end of the moon.

As the closest star to the Earth, the story of the Moon has always been a source of curiosity for mankind. With the development of technology, human beings have finally been able to realize the dream of going to the moon and touching the moon's soil with their own hands. But why would astronauts feel endless fear in space when going to the moon and looking at the Earth should be a romantic thing for them?

The human journey to the moon

Above the heavens, the stars around the moon shine brightly together, bringing a glimmer of light into the darkness of the night for the living creatures of Earth. As the "guiding light" of mankind at night, the moon has always been sought after and loved by people.

From ancient times to the present, people have also woven many beautiful and mysterious legends about the moon. The moon has always been a common dream of mankind.

As an extraterrestrial body floating in the universe, the moon is 380,000 kilometers away from the earth, and humans must rely on external help to cross such a long distance in a vacuum. So before the invention of manned spaceships, all dreams of going to the moon are illusory for humans.

In ancient times, the people used the story of Change running to the moon to put their hopes on the moon. In the early years of the Ming Dynasty, a scholar named Wanto used 47 homemade rockets, a chair, and two kites to make the initial "rocket" to realize his dream of going to the sky.

Of course, such a rocket is naturally incapable of helping Wando fly into the sky, and Wando paid with his own life. But Wando's fear of sacrifice is proof of the people's determination to go to the moon.

Although the moon landing goal was difficult, mankind never gave up the "pursuit" of the moon. Finally, in 1969, mankind completed the first ever moon landing and successfully set foot on the lunar surface. Up to now, mankind has completed a total of 12 manned moon landings, and all of these plans were completed by the superpower United States.

As the world's number one nation, the United States was equipped with the technology and economic power needed to send astronauts to the moon with the dream of all mankind.

In 1969, Apollo 11 carried three astronauts to the surface of the moon. Eventually, astronaut Armstrong became the first man in history to successfully land on the surface of the moon. Armstrong moved on to the Moon with the hopes of all mankind and gazed from the Moon at our home planet, Earth, for the first time from a lunar perspective.

Gazing at the Earth is supposed to be a very romantic thing, but after many astronauts on the Moon have said that it is a very scary thing to see the Earth from the Moon, what is it all about?

Why is "viewing the Earth from the Moon" scary?

In the history of the moon landing, astronauts have taken several photos, and among the many photos, the "Earthrise" picture taken by Bill Anders, has become one of the most famous photos in history. Perhaps in this photo, we can reveal the "view from the moon" as the reason for the terrible.

The first point is the sense of fear brought about by the vastness of the universe. The environment on the moon is very different from the Earth. We can also see from the photos, the moon does not have the same atmosphere as the Earth, so on the moon, we can look directly into the deep space of the universe, which undoubtedly has a very big impact on the astronauts.

In the empty and silent universe, we can feel the smallness of mankind, in the endless darkness of the night, astronauts can also feel the terror from the cosmic abyss.

The second point is the discomfort caused by the reversal of life and work. For astronauts, coming to the moon is the same as coming to a completely new environment. Whether from the gravitational aspect or air, everything on the moon is different from the Earth.

So in this condition, the astronauts also had to adjust their lifestyle to adapt to the "lunar life". This adjustment process is extremely uncomfortable for the astronauts, so in this case, the astronauts can also feel the fear of living on the moon.

The third point is the smallness of the Earth. If not out of the Earth, we will never be able to feel the original Earth in the universe is so small existence. For the astronauts on the moon, they will be deeply aware of the fact that at this time our home planet, Earth, in the universe is only gravel-like existence.

Astronaut Bill Anders once described his feelings: "In the universe, it's like we're a bug falling into a blowtorch.

Thus, it seems that the Earth is also extremely small in the universe. Perhaps on the moon, the astronauts will also start to think about the meaning of human existence and the future of human beings. In such a vast universe, the question of where we should go from here.

It seems that looking at the Earth from the Moon is both a novel and a frightening experience for the astronauts, and the impact of seeing the Earth from another perspective is enormous.

Perhaps for us ordinary people, we will never have the opportunity to go to the moon to feel the "fear" from deep space. But the planet is still in motion, the universe is expanding, and the journey of human conquest of the universe has never stopped.

In the future, we will also embark on a further interstellar path. In the jungle of the universe, more and more planets will be conquered by us. We believe that in the future, we will be able to look at the Earth from a distance on more planets and feel the splendid colors of the deep space of the universe.
