Unexplained Sunken Object Found in the Baltic Sea Baffles Scientists
Sunken Object
In 2011, the OceanX team embarked on an expedition to the Baltic Sea with hopes of finding historical artifacts or rare alcohol from sunken ships. However, they stumbled upon something unexpected when their sonar detected a large, rounded object with smooth edges and ideal geometric shapes at a depth of 87 meters. This stone disc was so big, it was dubbed the "Millennium Falcon" by the media due to its resemblance to a spaceship from Star Wars.
Upon their return, the OceanX team sought the help of artist Hauke Vacht to create a clearer image of the blurry sonar capture. While the resulting illustration was exciting, it failed to convey the enormity of the object - with a width of 61 meters and a length of 70 meters, it was larger than three tennis courts. Some angles of the structure featured right angles and elements resembling ramps and stairs, leading many to believe it was not a natural formation.
However, skeptics argued that the poor quality of the sonar image made it difficult to determine the object's true nature. They suggested that human imagination often conjures up things that don't exist when presented with unclear images, and therefore, there was no reason to assume the object was an alien spaceship. Some even suggested that OceanX intentionally asked the artist to create an illustration resembling a flying saucer to generate more publicity.
OceanX employees were frustrated by these claims and argued that they simply wanted to share their findings with the public. They pointed out that they had access to advanced equipment, including the research vessel Ocean MV Alucia and various professional cameras. They had previously captured footage of a giant squid, studied karst funnels, and even retrieved the wreckage of an Airbus A330 from the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
In an effort to prove their dedication to the truth, the OceanX team returned to the Baltic Sea a year later with better equipment and a more powerful sonar. Divers touched the anomaly and found it to be black, smooth, and artificial to the touch. They also found charred stones scattered nearby and strange stripes on the seabed, suggesting that the object had crashed into the sea and left behind traces of its impact.
However, within a radius of 200 meters around the stone disk, the team's equipment began to experience mysterious electrical interference and compasses malfunctioned. They were unable to gather further evidence, and their second expedition to the object came to an end.
Despite the new images, scientists remained skeptical. While archaeologist Goron Ekberg acknowledged that the object appeared to have been made by humans or a more advanced extraterrestrial civilization, he noted that there were other examples of seemingly artificial objects in nature. For instance, during the IceBridge mission in 2018, NASA experts found a perfectly rectangular iceberg that was later explained as a natural phenomenon.
Upon returning from their expedition, the OceanX team approached artist Hauke Vacht to draw a clearer image of the blurry sonar capture they had found. The resulting illustration is considered the closest to reality, though it doesn't convey the enormous size of the found object. The stone disc is 61 meters wide and 70 meters long, roughly the size of three tennis courts. The structure is decorated with elements resembling ramps and stairs, with some angles right and equal to 90 degrees. The object has surprisingly regular geometric shapes that skeptics claim could not be created by chance, but many scientists disagree and say the picture is of poor quality.
Some skeptics explain the resemblance to UFOs by suggesting that the human imagination likes to draw something that doesn't exist when a clear picture is unavailable. There is supposedly nothing to be surprised about, and there is no need to look for the presence of aliens in the waters of the Baltic Sea. Some even hint that OceanX may have asked the artist to make an illustration of the fine so that it looked like a flying saucer, as this would generate more publicity. This idea angered OceanX employees, who didn't voice any assumptions regarding the origin of the anomaly but simply wanted to show their find to the public reliably. Doubting the quality of their technical equipment was merely foolish. OceanX has at its disposal the 56-meter research vessel Ocean MV Alucia, equipped with various professional cameras and even a helipad. They were the first to capture the giant sea squid, study karst funnels, and retrieve the wreckage of the Airbus A330, which crashed in 2009.
A year later, the OceanX team returned to the Baltic Sea, better equipped and with a more powerful sonar. Divers plunged to the very bottom, right to the mysterious object, and discovered a surface that was absolutely black and artificial to the touch, like smooth concrete. The team took new pictures, divers broke off a small sample from the anomaly, and then found strangely scattered charred stones nearby. A rock ledge was split into two perfectly even parts, and strange stripes were found on the seabed. From above, the picture appears as if this colossal object fell into the sea, crashed into the bottom, and left traces of breaking behind it. OceanX employees wanted to find at least something else to help them get closer to solving the mystery behind the Baltic Anomaly and the new evidence, but within a radius of 200 meters around the stone disk, mysterious electrical interference suddenly began to disable the compasses and all the team's equipment. This ended their second expedition to the object.
New images have allowed scientists to examine the right angles of the Baltic Anomaly in detail, but they remain very skeptical. Archaeologist Goron Ekberg noted that the findings really look like the object was made either by humans or by a more advanced extraterrestrial civilization, yet he added that this wasn't the first object in the world that looked artificial but was actually made by nature. In 2018, during the IceBridge mission, NASA experts also stumbled upon something of a geometrically correct shape which they called the perfectly rectangular iceberg. At first, everyone was also puzzled over how it could come out so evenly, but they quickly found a scientific explanation. This means that the Baltic Anomaly must also follow the laws of logic, and nature generally has a lot of examples of geometric perfection, such as snowflake patterns, plant leaves, and salt crystals. Now, take a look at this regular hexagonal grid pattern that scientists have called the paleodictian.
Scientists are puzzled by the perfectly formed honeycombs found in marine fossils worldwide, with various theories attempting to explain their origin. Some suggest a small worm-like animal or a sea sponge that left an imprint of its body created them, while others point to examples of geometrically ideal objects forming at the bottom of the sea. However, skeptics suggest that not everything perfect and inexplicable is necessarily the work of aliens.
The Baltic anomaly is another mystery that has stumped scientists, with various hypotheses attempting to explain the oddities discovered there. Some believe that the anomaly is a natural formation preserved since the ice age, while others think it is a human-made structure, possibly a Nazi bunker or a fragment of structures made by the ancient civilization of Hyperborea.
Supporters of the Nazi bunker theory believe that the anomaly is a platform base for a device that was used to block the movement of British and Russian submarines during World War II. However, this theory is inconsistent with the discovery of silk in the cracks of the study fragment, which is over 10,000 years old.
Another theory is that the Baltic anomaly is a fragment of structures made by the ancient civilization of Hyperborea, similar to Atlantis. Hyperborea is believed to have existed where the North Pole is now located, but its existence is confirmed only by references in ancient sources, which modern scientists do not trust.
In 1985, Japanese diver Kihachiro Aratake discovered another flooded city off the coast of a small Japanese island called Yonaguni. The underwater ruins occupied an area that would fit three American football fields, and included a castle, an arch, temples, a stadium-like building, a dance platform, a pool, a rock in the shape of a turtle, and even a pyramid. The city was built at least 5,000 years ago.
Overall, while scientists have various theories about the honeycombs, the Baltic anomaly, and the Yonaguni ruins, none of these mysteries have been fully explained, leaving the possibility that even the craziest theories could turn out to be true.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the remaining structures were interconnected by roads and water channels. This suggests that our ancient ancestors possessed remarkable intelligence and engineering skills to create such colossal structures. Perhaps our ancestors were much more intelligent than we thought, as they were able to construct such complexes as Yonaguni and the Baltic Anomaly. While it may seem likely that natural disasters caused these structures to end up at the bottom of the sea, there is evidence to suggest otherwise. A stone sample taken from the Baltic Anomaly was found to contain elements that do not occur in nature, and Israeli geologist Steve Weiner believes that it might have an extraterrestrial origin. The cosmic elements present in the rock's composition could create a powerful magnetic field, which may explain why diver's equipment always fails around it.
However, the strange occurrences during the OceanX expedition did not stop there. The crew experienced migraines and fevers, and researchers felt like they were being warmed up in a giant microwave. Even more suspiciously, the government officially banned divers from the area and stopped the mission after only two dives. This has led to speculation that the authorities know something and are trying to hide it from the public.
There have been rumors that aliens have been equipping their secret underwater bases to observe people for quite a while. For example, in 2004, ex-US Navy fighter pilot David Fravor noticed a strange device in the air that hovered above the waves. The object had a perfectly rounded shape and looked like a 12-meter long Tic Tac. Fravor claims that the object began to behave aggressively after noticing his fighter jet. It abruptly changed altitude, disappeared, and moved very erratically. Similarly, the crew of a Russian military submarine once noticed six unknown objects on the sonar moving at an incredible speed of over 425 kilometers per hour. When the submarine urgently surfaced, the unknown objects quickly escaped from underwater and disappeared into the sky.
The underwater world is the most convenient place for a secret alien base because most of the ocean depths remain unexplored. Even in the Baltic Sea, the anomaly isn't the first strange and unexplainable object associated with aliens. Near the normal alien base, there is the island of Gotland, where 3,600 stones with various notches and even cuts were found. Scientists have dated them to around 3600 BC, and geologists still cannot explain their origin. However, the purpose of the drawings on the stones is even more mysterious. Studies show that perfectly even cuts on them are not parallel but oriented in several directions, as if pointing to something.
Dr. Goron Heinrichsen believes that the stones depict celestial objects, such as the location of the Moon, the sun, and stars and constellations. These stones are astronomical calendars, and the island itself could be a huge observatory. It's unlikely that our ancestors needed to understand the night sky in such detail for basic crafts and agriculture. However, an extraterrestrial civilization that had its own secret base nearby could use the information about the location of celestial bodies.
While supporters of various theories are screaming about UFOs, Nazis, and natural wonders, scientists have drawn attention to another feature of the Baltic anomaly. Divers found a distinct silhouette of a triangle with a hole in the center carved into the surface of one of the stones. Perhaps this is an important clue or symbol that could help us understand the true origin of the stone disc.
